How do you guys feel about the new FLCL that will be coming out in the next year or two? Apparently it won't have Naota as a main character. Instead, it is years after the original events of FLCL and it revolves around a young teenage girl named Hidomi. I'll be quite upset if the original characters aren't in it at all, seeing that the original is my favourite anime of all time. The Wikipedia doesn't even list the original creator/director as a director, but this article says that he will come back for these two new seasons. Gainax also not being part of this really worries me, seeing that it is just Production I.G. and Adult Swim. What do you think browsers of /a/?

That you shouldn't be worried. FLCL is humongously overrated and they can't do worse than the original product. If anything, it being in demand by americans and being made by Production I.G. is an improvement. Maybe they'll actually do something serious and worthy of praise as opposed to that clusterfuck garbage that was the original.

I feel the exact opposite way. Haruko shouldn't have come back. No one should have come back. This should have been like Diebuster. Alternatively, this should not have existed.

Fucking no.
Adult Swim has no idea what made FLCL good, they just know it was popular with their audience and they might be able to make some money off of a sequel. People like Adult Swim's audience and you who don't have the attention span to recognize character development that isn't monologued about have no business claiming FLCL is a "clusterfuck".

Hopefully they'll be able to fit The Pillows' tracks well enough like they did in the original. I honestly kind of wish they went with a different band since I don't think the rest of The Pillows stuff after Happy Bivouac is that great. FLCL really had all their best songs.
