The Aizen arc ended with the defeat of the main villain, and the resolution of all the character plots. threads, and arcs throughout the story besides the most meaningless of points.

It even gave us closing for Ichigos ability to see spirits and gave a satisfying if slightly bittersweet end for his character arc.

Everything afterwards just stirred up new and retarded shit which was completely pointless and ended up going nowhere. From a story point of view everything after 423 is unnecessary and meaningless.

It didn't just stop short in the middle of one of the messiest and unorganized arcs in manga history and call it a day.
