She did nothing for Madoka. The Madoka which Homura worked to save wasn't the real Madoka, but some desperate construct created in her mind from years of continual time travel and encroaching madness. A construct whose whims and desires just so happened to neatly line up with Homura's own whims and desires. While Homura cannot be fully blamed for her actions, as she is for all purposes on the brink or fully insane, neither is she guiltless. Honestly, it's too early to say if Homura did anything wrong or not. While Madoka thinks she should sacrifice herself for the world, Homura thinks the world should sacrifice itself for Madoka. Now, I'm perfectly fine with that, but only as long as it's kept to a reasonable level. Based of the ending of Rebellion, we haven't really seen any demerits to Homura's new world. Supposedly, it's not "stable", but what does that entail? Will the world end in a few years, wiping out all life? Then Homura's decision would just be stupid as fuck. I don't think things will go that far, and we should probably know by the end of the next movie.

Whatever happens, I'll always love Homura.

She said in the flower field that she wouldn't want to go away from everyone. You're right that she didn't seem sad, but this is the thing you have to understand about Madoka. She doesn't regret sacrificing herself for others. That gives her a sense of fulfillment even if she isn't personally happy. She had no regrets when she went off to fight Walpurgisnight in the first timeline despite knowing she was going to die. Homura sees this as unfair and just wants Madoka to be able to have a happy normal life. The disagreement on the concept of happiness between the two of them is the primary driving force of the conflict in this story, and has been from the very beginning.

Holy fuck I'm mad, how derivative is it to have the Magical Girl mascot thing as the canon appearance for Kyuubey?! I always interpreted his white Pikachu cat form as just a doll that helps him blend into the world. The idea that there is an abstract and unknowable entity behind that cat doll made a huge chunk of the entire appeal. But now they're doing research with Homura's gem and running around as the cat, which makes no fucking sense.

Homura's goal isn't for Madoka to love her. It's for Madoka to be happy, regardless of what happens to Homura. Even if she has to make Madoka her enemy, Homura will keep on fighting for a world where Madoka can be happy.

The entirety of Rebellion was pretty much Homura accepting her selfishness. But selfishness in this context is her care for Madoka, not for herself. Homura's desire is for Madoka to be happy, and she will do anything to achieve it, even if she has to betray Madoka's own wishes. As for what events in the movie caused this change, I think the flower field scene, the threat of the incubators and finally the scene where Madoka reverts Homulilly back to Homura are the most important.

The scene where Homura clings to the image of Madoka is pretty good symbolism for what's going on. After Ep 12, all Homura has left is her attachment to Madoka; she attempts to cling to Madoka's image, but no matter how hard she tries, there's nothing to grab onto. Meanwhile, you hear the Clara Dolls shouting "Gott ist tot!". What Nietzsche meant with this is that God is no longer a source of moral principles. This is similar to how merely the memory of Madoka was no longer a sufficient source of hope for Homura.

I honestly don't know how his ISP hasn't terminated his service yet, they get angry if you change you MAC address too often.
