Like what was even the point of the flashback in this episode, we already knew Roid and Keith have been bffs4lyf since they were kids. What was the point of the extended scene of the knights sitting around, Cassim scratching his new rune aids scar and nothing coming out of that scene?

Really getting sick of Delta pointlessly dragging out their reveals. First we had mystery about Hayate's dad dragged out for 2 eps (when it was pretty obvious by the end of ep15) and now it's Mikumo. Honestly we should have gotten Mikumo's backstory last ep instead of Infodump: The Episode.

I'm staying optimistic and I'll keep watching Delta, but I can't deny that the series has been going down hill recently. Like many have said, the pacing is all over the place, and the seccond half feels completely different from the first half of the series.
I don't like what they are doing with the characters and I don't like where the series is going with its story. This feels nothing like the first half of Delta which was great.

Please, rewatch the earlier episodes. There are lots of hints here and there that point out to the windies actually believing their actions are necessary. To start with, I think the beginning of episode 5, when Roid is declaring war on NUN and taling about the unfair trades, was very telling because all the Knights were drawn with these determined and even subtly pained expressions that pointed out at there being truth behind Roid's words.

What you are describing is the opposite of selfish. I'm not saying the episodes are bad, but the overall story is kind of slowing down too much considering we're nearing the end.
Windermere lost its king, took over the sector, fucked up the resident NUNS fleet and... they've sat around doing nothing for weeks now before Walkure came in and wrecked their thing on the cat planet which in turn fucked up young fuhrer.

I mean, NUNS aren't the fastest ones around but they've kind of started a war, wiped out a fleet and are still threatening the whole galaxy.

In the past few episodes I remember people say people say mirage is immature while Frejya is more mature. But it seems that this episode gave proven them wrong when frejya is literally a kid in her 15's.

But there hasn't been that much character development either in the downtime episodes. The Windermere episode was probably the worst offender, they used crazy amounts of time just on the WIND STRONK PROTOCULTURE STRONK REMOVE NUNS FROM PREMISES speech (which was nothing new) and ceremony with the only new thing being the video of the bomb drop. There's just massive amounts of screentime being wasted on nothing. The previous episode was almost nothing but a series-wide recap and I can't even remember what else happened in the birthday episode. The pacing is so bad and there's so much scenes that serve no purpose that there's probably 3-4 episodes in the second cour that could've been condensed into a single one.

I've watched and largely enjoyed most every Macross entry in the franchise) except Macross 7 because fuck Macross 7) amd I'm perfectly fine with them scaling back dogfights and action for more character driven drama. What exactly is their "core audience" because I don't think you really understand what you're saying. Delta hasn't really even strayed very far from the elements that make Macross what it is, it's just choosing to focus on the aspects different from the ones you like. This doesn't mean they're alienating a core audience, it means you in particular and people with similar opinions to your own have been alienated (though I don't think this is even the right word). I don't think you're a core audience. You'd actually have to fuck up quite a lot to alienate a "core audience" for something like Macross.

So I think we will have more of the triangle although Mirage "confessing" in this episode (what more could see say to Hayate after this? Aishiteru? I don't think her feelings are that deep so daisuki is what she could say. Not to mention she said this to both of them instead of Hayate) while Freyja hasn't yet.
