1) Gather information on Goblins, this means reading up on books about the types that exists and what are their fighting abilities.

2) I would not immediately enter the dungeon. After learning that Goblins makes several tunnels to jump people I would devise a plan. We would 2 days watching the cave and get to know Goblin activity, how many come and go, and what's the best estimate we are dealing with.

3) I would gather Monk, Priestess, and Mage piss and put it at the entrance. When several Goblins come to check it out I would have the mage blast them with her weakest spells to kill them, and have her best one on standby. Priestess would hide in the nearby area, read to retrieve and heal one of us if we get hurt. When the Goblins try to rush Mage, me and Monk would protect her as she rains down spells in a wide open area.

4) Hobgoblin or the Shaman appearing would cause us to retreat for the day, and prepare some kind of trap.

Eventually fatigue caught up with the thief and they got discovered. Sure. Let's say the Goblin are at Stone-age or Bronze-age at best . All their good stuff (weapons/cloth) are human stuff they looted from their victim . And most of their members are weak (just say 13 year olds human childs weak). They are NOT strong , not at all and NOT well-armed . A group of milita with iron/steel weapons/armors can wipe them out easy . Heck. Even if they have 2-3 hobbo in their rank , no big deal , 4-5 bolt from crossbow can take care of that

They are cunning though, and venturing forth to wipe them out would mean going into their home, where they have terrain knowledge. Chap-1 Goblin nest is about 7+18= 25 goblin. And we have 1 mage/leader and 3 Hobbo/elite. And it's do a good deal of damage to Humanity : 4 adventurer get killed/broken , 3 women turned into cumdump and that just those we know. I bet they killed/raped much more
