I really can't see this show going for a Mirage end. They've done absolutely nothing to justify it happening as of this point. Yes writers decide everything that happens in a show, but an asspull is still an asspull. There has been nothing that remotely resembles romantic development between Mirage and Hayate.

I don't really see Hayate as ever confiding in Mirage for tough things either as some suggest. His first kill? He didn't seek her out, she came to him when he was down because of it. Freyja couldn't exactly have offered any insight on the matter of killing someone else either. Messer? Hayate and Mirage found him, that's the entire reason for it. His father nuking Windermere? He never did confide anything about that with Mirage. Obviously Freyja would be the hardest to talk to about it, but they still got over it pretty quick.

But that's really besides the point. The main issue is that there's no development for between Hayate and Mirage that has been romantic, beyond onesidedly for Mirage. Meanwhile, they've built Hayate and Freyja quite a lot. Mirage honestly just feels like another bumb on the road for the relationship between Hayate and Freyja. "Oh hey this great friend of ours who we both admire, she's got feelings for one of us. Gotta handle this right", whenever it comes to the front.

Hayate and Mirage needs to have serious romantic development between the two if I am ever going to take it seriously.

why is Mikumo lying between Keith and Freyja in the animage spread????

I am enjoying this show a lot, but I have to say that Mirage is an awkward fit into the story. She should have either been used better (keep the story of her mentorship of Hayate going, him learning from her, her learning from him) or she should have been almost completely removed from the story to give room for Hayate and Freyja. The love triangle adds practically nothing and Mirage is only ever on screen to show her being jealous of Freyja.

I think the only pleasure anyone gets out of Mirage these days is teasing "Miragefags" about how cucked she is. It seems like she must have originally been planned to have a larger role but it was severely diminished.

I'm mainly unhappy because the episode ended with my precious Hoina feeling down, indeed she's at her lowest point yet right now. It's painful to have to go an entire week with her down. As for the triangle I still don't think there's any way she could actually lose. Even so, it hurts when my Hoina is unhappy. She's been brought down so many times now, but this one feels like they're really gonna draw it out and drag her through the mud before they're done for the sake of drama.

Waterslides actually work better on curved surfaces, especially if you use Mark Setter and Softener. I guess for people who just want something quick to snap up it's fine to use stickers.

Yeah, if I had the setter and softener, I probably would have used the decals. I don't have all the gear that plamo enthusiasts use, since the only kits I have are a couple Gundam 1/144s and the VF-31.

As it is though, the one decal I had to use was on the piece one of the little winglets in the front rotated on. That was the most stressful part of the build honestly, aside from the sticker on the top of the head.

I might have to pick up some cement if the super glue doesn't work out one the antenna. I guess I'll know after I've let it sit for a day.

I still don't think Mirage will be the winner of the triangle. My take on it is that she will be the flame under Freyja's ass to get her shit and make it work between her and Hayate.

We've gotten 18 episodes of Hayate and Freyja (which is something that staff could definitely throw away in favor of HayaMira but you have to ask yourself...is it worth it? is it a smart move when the majority of the fanbase is already dead set on Freyja emerging victorious? Would you throw away 18 episodes worth of development for the girl who has for the past 18 episodes just been staring and gasping from behind the scenes to come in at the finish line and win?) chemistry and easily overcoming everything thrown at them and their chemistry never being put to the test. For a show that's about resonance and working together despite all odds, HayaFre has breezed through that in the romance department. Don't get me wrong, I like HayaFre but this is the angst they need to go through to really establish if their relationship will work or not. For Freyja I see two options:

1. She moves on from the triangle because she realizes she has more important Messiah-esque things to do.
2. She realizes that her problems are not just HER problems and that she should rely on Hayate more and vice versa. One thing I've noticed consistently about Freyja is that she tries to shoulder everything by herself in order to not worry others. More than being independant, I think her characterization leads more into LEARNING to rely more on others.

That said, while I particularly do not care about Mirage, I do admit she deserves more than to just be the girl who for 18 episodes stared and was jealous of Hayate and Freyja. Miragefags can say a win is a win however many times they want, but a win will not make Mirage a good character. What Mirage deserves is development and not some pity dick. Girl needs to get her shit together and not cry over an unconscious guy because "I don't know what to do, please help me".

You know I don't care much for the triangle, and even though I do see Freyja more likely than Mirage, I wouldn't say they deserve each other. There is a huge boundary between liking someone and loving someone. Right now Hayate might like Freyja but I doubt he loves her, and the same for Freyja. Which is why I can see why Freyja will forget about romance for more important things. Even if this happens I don't think Mirage should end up with Hayate either, because her character would regress rather than progress. She would literally be the most awful written character in the Macross franchise and known as the girl who couldn't achieve anything on her own and won the bowl. That's sad.

I was just rewatching the first episode. It's funny by how much that episode has misled me. Back then I was impressed by delta platoon actually working together and the Windies gave a much more different vibe.

I'm actually a little disapointed by how lame Windermere is. I also wish we got more team work like in that first dogfight.

It's not that hard. There aren't that many stronger contenders for husbandos this season and the fujos don't have a strong preference for Josuke vs Jotaro so the votes got split or they would vote for Araragi and Kirito.

Frontier didn't have a lot of songs with impact either.

I can listen to the entire Walkure album and there's maybe one song I don't like.

If I were to have Frontier's songs loaded up I would skip at least half of them because they're dog shit.

Frontier's good songs are really good, but it's got a lot of shit songs and forgettable ones too. While Walkure might not hit the highest of heights, all the songs are at the very least solid.

I would say the song "When the Wind Blows Unnoticed" is what made it stands out better than the other Walkure songs due to how it was presented. Look at the ending theme of this episode for example, the transisitioning on scene to scene from Aligato Mirage to Frejya's gasping on Hayate and then follow by the reminiscent of past Macross Idols. These are the little things that could actually make a song this memorable.
