That's what happens when most anime are created solely to advertise something else (music, merchandise, source material, etc.). The anime itself becomes so commercialized that no thought is put into how good it will be as a product on its own. This is when you find fan art and doujins superior to the anime.

I was like this once OP,my best advice is to rewatch some of your old favourite shows then give yourself a break for one or two seasons and you'll feel refreshed going back in. And a friendly reminder,if it feels like a chore to watch a certain anime,then stop watching it.

I'm kind of tired of the adaption to original series ratio as well. Half the time it doesn't feel necessary or take advantage of the medium. It's just talking heads and voice actors with color.
