I guess his zanpakuto had a "hollow mask" because it was based on a hollow, also we may need to reinterpret everything so far because his "shikai" may have been his sword's original "final form" since it was not based on an Asauchi so it may not have had the same "programming".

He basically never had a shikai or bankai to begin with. His bankai was just something Yhwachgetsu made up.

So basically now that his Zanpakuto(s) are based on a real Asauchi and his powers are divided properly between Shikai and Bankai forms, his original "final form" is set to being the bankai.

So his shikai became his bankai, because it basically always was, because he didn't have a sealed form to begin with. Yhwachgetsu was just fucking around.

But you do understand this is a bullshit retcon, right? Even White released bankai inside Ichigo's inner world and he wasn't playing by Yhwachgetsu's rules at that point.

I mean you can make sense of it but, it's still gonna be bullshit.

So it's safe to assume that's how the spirit swords worked before Ooetsu's Asauchi/Zanpakuto, and Ichigo's type may go back to even before that.

So what I'm saying is that since he came out of the Shattered Shaft with that cleaver, that was the only form his sword had. He basically had a caveman sword.

And now that he had a proper Zanpakuto, that form of his sword is sorted into the Bankai category by the Asauchi's "programming" because it's the full form.

Logic would dictate that Ichigo's "Fullbring+" form was closer to a "True Shinigami", lacking in Quincy Influences.

Thus it would make sense for the reforged sword, made once Ichigo accepted his Triplicate-Nature, would regain the original form his sword has when he was unknowingly relying on his Quincy Side.

As to why this sword was now his Bankai, rather than Shikai?
Personally I'm on the side of those theorizing that it's not. The dual-wield state is actually Zangetsu's true, unreleased form, signifying its duality. The reason Ichigo's "Bankai" had the white, Hollow-like shell is due to internal confusion caused by him trying to go straight from Unreleased -> Bankai, which Ichigo has never done.

That's my take on it anyway.

Well there were a few more parts I really enjoyed. The Unohana fight with Ken was great except for her bankai. Anything involving Aizen because yes I am an aizenfag. Shunsui being promoted was cool (his bankai was a huge letdown though). Just a few examples but every once in a while there were parts that were enjoyable. Nothing that lived up to SS or arrancar arcs though except maybe the beginning when they first invaded and I was thinking all the people they "killed" were actually going to stay dead...

What he means to say is the Bleach audience is old. They're not the kids who are going to take out a fucking pen and vote on a postcard. They're young adults who buy the volumes. Bleach is attracting absolutely zero new blood, and has bled a lot of its old fans over the past five to six years. So yes, in that sense, the Bleach fanbase is very secular. Just as the Gintama is very old and very secular(or just prefers the Sunrise anime like most).

Kubo and his bosses agreed to end it right at Bleach's 15th year anniversary some time ago and then they screamed at him for having a terribly slow pace that caused the final battle to be extremely rushed and probably required Ishida's fight with Haschwalth to be extremely reduced.

Because Kubo said way back in 2010 or so that there would be two more arcs in Bleach, a short one and a long one, and the Quincy arc was annouced as the final arc of Bleach at its beginning. The end was obviously approaching many months ago. It can't be a coincidence that it was timed to coincide with Bleach's 15th anniversary, given Kubo's obsession with that number.
