There's a reason why Bleach lasted the length it has without moving much storywise. Fight scenes take way too many pages when doing them. Can you just imagine going full Namek on a monthly series like TLRD in that manner?

People "hate" Momo cause she was downgraded.
After the gym accident she switched from seductress to peeper never doing anything relevant for the harem again. Plus the manga returned to the original accidental ecchi while in the beginning Rito was involved especially by Momo into real erotic play.
Then Momo became paranoid about her mother after looked like she was recovered from the gym accident (pic related). Not to mention she is often used to downgrade Lala and show how stupid she is while Momo is so reliable and better making all Lala fans rage in the process. And anyway Mea and Nemesis ended up being more interesting characters with a more interesting approach about the harem plan.

Every charactyer have been refined but not Lala. Is like the author want the reader to forget about her and in many instances even her relationship with Lala is reconsidered. I would bet against this easily. Rito has already wavered a bit multiple times throughout darkness, especially when Lala wanted to kiss with him he thought not only of Haruna, but of Run. Not to mention the fact that it's not only Lala who has admitted being okay with a harem. Mikan and Haruna both brought up the idea in the past, Nana knows about it, Mea is down for it, and while Momo has her doubts it's more than likely to set up for a bigger arc for her later where she'll accept it.
