How would a Death Note work against someone with resurrective immortality? Take C2 for example-- he writes her real name down, she goes into cardiac arrest-- but after a few minutes, she'd be up and about again.

Or, for another example-- magical girls from PMMM are already 'dead' in the sense that their bodies are sustained by magic-- so if he writes "Akemi Homura", she'd simply be resuscitated by her own magic after undergoing cardiac arrest. And that's before she turns into a reality-warping demon.

The specified cause of death has to be physically possible, or else it defaults to a heart attack (see: the Eiffel Tower example). Light would have to first set up a situation, either by controlling Wolverine's actions before his death via the Death Note, or the actions of others, to put him in a situation where it would be possible to fall into a volcano or be shot into space.

Might be easier to control Wolverine and make him cut off his own head or something. (I'm not very familiar with X-Men comics, but I think completely severing his head would defeat his regenerative capabilities, worked for "Deadpool" in Origins.)

Last I remember Wolverine has survived the blast of a nuke. So, I think he can be beheaded just fine and still manage to come back.
