Yuri made the SoL genre as popular as it is today. It solves the issue of having an annoying male character in a show about cute girls and/or having to make the story devoid of any fluff and tease.

However, SoL ruined yuri in return. Now it's impossible to get a somewhat serious and real deal yuri show without it turning into SoL or fags complaining that it's not platonic enough.

What yuri need is an animation of something like Adachi and Shimamura or Bloom into You, which are impossible because it's easier and safer to adapt some random Kirara series instead.
