Came to post this. The ending of S2 is great, but the gundam -syndrome, too many 'divine' mechs, and less gritty/grunt battles really hit it hard. The entire last battle was pretty underwelming and if the Kallen/Suzaku battle didn't happen it would have been the worst animated.
