As far as I understand, the problems people had with the game were similar to those with FFXII, except instead of shafting a decent plot for muh hunts it just SUPER shafts the presumed female lead while your party goes spelunking, right? So what's the best course of action for the anime to take?

Mob Psycho 100 has scribbles as character designs though, literally no details on them, it's easy to animate a stick figure that well.
It's like the Sasuke vs Naruto first fight inspired by Mitsuo Iso, it looked good but it also forgot to draw the details and faces.

It needs more Rose though
