After how horribly Aniplex and Bones handled the second season by turning it into a half baked half length Kan Hanazawa commercial I no longer have any interest in that franchise. It's been 7 years anyway, I'd like to see it just stay in the 2000's now since there's zero chance of another season having the kind of focus and tone the first one had back when it was still okay to run 26 episode series, particularly the way Aniplex is nowdays especially as a producer. He's talking about the sort of Aniplex strategy of relying on popular industry names that worked on other hits to try to carry anime originals by tapping their established fanboys I think. Usually these people aren't very good at their jobs or complete fish out of water on what they are tasked to work on and literally just there for marketing reasons. IMO it's chief among reasons why the quality of original anime has rapidly declined this decade but it's a valid business tactic on moving Blu Rays with event tickets in the Japanese market since only really big hits or franchises tend to move those otherwise.

The only things that really come to mind of late are Girls Und Panzer, Love Live and Shirobako. None of those had particularly established names on board to carry them initially.
