Second season will be much more action oriented and shouldn't have the slow pacing issues of the original, so unless Bones goes full QUALITY it'll probably do about the same.

I think this was a bad sales strategy. I'm pretty sure if the volumes were like usual (2 episodes per volume) it would've sold around the same but there would been 6 volumes and not only three.
And the money would been the same too, people claiming that kabaneri boxes are expensive and cost twice conveniently forget that selling 10k volumes at 15k yen each is the same as selling 20k volumes at 7.5k yen. That's why I'm saying this is a bad strategy. People is more willing to spend 7.5k yen every month for the next six months than spending 15k yen every time for the months. The price being the double had a negative impact psychologically.

Not really. The artwork in Osomatsu-san is pretty simple most of the time but that's not my point. Bones or should I say, Tachikawa is focusing more in the visuals and making it more action oriented, which by the way isn't even the main appeal of ONE's work, instead of focusing on the gags and timing them properly. Let's be honest, Osomatsu-san didn't really have amazing production values but it excelled in the comedic aspects a lot thanks to Fujita who knew how to make the gags work.

Adaptions are the bread and butter. Original anime is the lottery ticket. If it sells, awesome. If not, no problem.

Maybe, maybe not. It all depends if they actually had an interest in furthering the hype or if they just wanted to grab some quick bucks while it's still on its zenith.
Personally I think they thought that this would print them money regardless of how shit it ended up and vastly overestimated how much the existing fanbase consists of mindless sheep. In the end they just never really put much thought into it, you could already see it when they chose fucking Diomedéa for it.

Do you know how much streaming licenses costs? They are cheap as fuck. Makority of japanese streaming sites have the same prices as CR with 500 yen per month for unlimited access to everything. Nico allows to watch majority of anime for 100-200 yen per episode. And streaming is not popular there anyway because you can watch any anime legally for free on TV. The very first thing every nip learns in his life is how to record anime from TV if it is airing too late in the night.
Streaming won't become a considerable part of anime production business model in near future.

If they invest that much in advertising, then they expect it to be a hit. I think many people here don't understand exactly how much Aniplex spent on Haifuri. They spent as much as SAO when it came out. They were expecting 30k minimum. Now they have loads of mercy that will have to be discounted and egg in their face and are trying to save face by saying vol 1 sold 10k. But Aniplex has money to burn, so they can afford to gamble which is not a bad thing for anime. If studios don't risk, we would just get adaptations.

Somehow GuPs old BD numbers still managed to outlast Haifuri despite Aniplex massive shilling and crazy benefits schemes. Haifuri had legs for like maybe a week or two after its final episode and still never managed to get up to what even Arpeggio of Blue Steel the previous lowest selling Girls and Boats things did in its first week (About 12K). This is such a gimme genre it's amazing they couldn't get it over 10K with event tickets out the ass and the Advertising campaign of the year. I don't actually think a lot of people realize just much event planning resources and marketing deals got sunk into this project that was clearly supposed to be massive and a franchise starter. Its got manga tieins, merchandise out the ass, boat models, character votes at otaku stores ala idol anime, the works really. The only other things that comes close this year is Love Live Sunshine and the only other thing I can see coming close for the rest of the year is Iron Blooded Orphans Part II
