I figure Reinhard exist as a foil to Subura. Reinhard is always the perfect knight on screen and reminds us that although Subura has fought tooth and nail to get where he is he isn't chivilrous or a paragon of virtue. Reinhard is basically perfect in mind, body and spirit. Subura on the other hand shows quite frequently that he can't hold it together and that his conviction is weak when he breaks down. All of Reinhards qualities are what Subura attempts to immitate or genuinly believes he posses. Even their powers are in contrast with each other with Reinhard having blessings and Subura having a power from a witch, which is more like a curse.
