As someone who HAS cooked, I'd say cooking>rations as they not only get to fill you more but also are way more healthy than preserved things. I can see them going around certain problems, Senshi could find another axe like Laius found his new sword ((or he could just not need it for the confrontation, they may not end up fighting him after all, and he could potentially be on that same level.)) and Marcille seems to be doing ok on the Undine fuel, I think the reason she needed to leave before was because she was legit running on empty, whereas now she has enough mana to keep the flow going, if it even works like that, but we just don't know, as it is, she's doing fine.

As for identifying Farlyn, I imagine Marcille would be able to do that.

At best they'll go back to the orcs, but considering we don't know what they did with the frog suits or if they're even wearable anymore ((considering the blood inside was coagulated and stuck to their skin, they probably had to rip them apart to get out)), they might not be able to get back without finding more frogs on this level or having to use a teleport spell like Farlyn knows how to do.

Senshi is pretty handy and is likely able to use swords and axes ((considering he was able to wield a trident without too much trouble)) and given that they're in an abandoned town on a level that most normal adventurers don't even go through, it wouldn't be outrageous to believe that they'd find a weapon that Senshi could use there. Regardless, it may not even matter, considering that they're likely at the tail end of the dungeon, the sorcerer could be on that same level or there may not be more general monster shit hiding him, and since the dragon is the only real danger there, Senshi not having his axe may not really effect their progress.

He'll be in just as much or more of a troubled state if they go back up, because then they WILL be facing more monsters that way and he'll be unarmed, better option for all is to find the sorcerer, get Farlyn resurrected, then use the mass teleportation spell that she knows to get them out.

Seriously, we just don't know enough about the town level to make judgments on how useful it will be for the party, and because of the dragon, there's no other predators on the level, it's probable that they can find a suitable weapon for Senshi and rest for a bit to give Marcille some time to recover after using her magic in the last battle, though as it is, her magic reserves seem fine.

I don't really think I'm being over dramatic, it just seems to me that even within the world itself, going all the way back up to the surface ((which, considering the manga's length up until now, would take a lot of time)) just to identify bones that Marcille could probably identify anyway and to get a new axe for Senshi ((which again, they could probably find a replacement in the town level))

Adding to that something I just thought of, is that if they go back to the surface, Chilchack might actually leave the group, he was the most professional, and considering they at the very least already got Farlyns bones, then they basically achieved what they set out to do and what he was paid for.

The only way I can see the group staying together and for the manga not to have to skip a few weeks each way is to keep going. After all the interesting stuff we've seen them fight and eat in the dungeon, I and I imagine many other people don't really care about boring surface food.

Sounds like good drama to me. What's the problem here? If he's honest about only staying in the party because he got paid in advance then he would've left in the first chapter and they'd still have the money to pay him since you know, dragon spoils.

Seriously I don't think this is worth all this arguing, the simplest fact is that there isn't really anything worthwhile about the party going back up to the surface, it's only piddling around before they get back to the main story, there's no food on the surface that's on par with what we've seen in the dungeon, and as it is, the few problems that need to be fixed may be able to be fixed without needing to leave the dungeon at all, instead they can take their time eating the dragon and then get going again without having to backtrack over what we've seen already and hang around on the boring surface.
