So I have a novel that I have as a text file that I'm going to read in browser. Are there any extensions aside from rikai that would be useful for something like that? Also I swear I heard something about pressing a key to automatically add words to anki; is there any guide out there for how to set that up?

Holy fuck. How do you guys handle dealing with these one use specific situation kanji. I'm up to like 1200+ individual characters and it's starting to get to the point where I just don't fucking care anymore. I no longer wish to do anki, but I'm unable to stop because I know if I do I'll just get assraped the next time I feel like starting and it will be impossible to start up again.

Also, I usually do 25 new cards with 140~160 review and I spend about an hour and a half on it normally. I feel like it's a bit much for every single fucking day when I also work full time.

I have fallen behind on Anki and currently have 3000+ pending reviews. I try doing them every day, but grinding through 250 a day sometimes take too long. I don't have much free time due to my work and some health issues.

I do read every day, but the catch is, it's all doujins I read on my cellphone while fapping. So that works reasonably well if it's words I already know reasonably well, but looking up any kanji I don't know is a chore.

I don't know what I hoped to achieve with this post, just wondering if other anons have the same problem.

What book or site do you think is the best resource and what did or do you do to not forget what you learned?

I personally read through "Japanese the Manga Way" first, I acquired a very very basic knowledge of how Japanese works, at least easy things like particles are explained rather easy to understand, but when it comes to conjugations or shit like ba forms I'm pretty lost as the few examples aren't enough to get a feeling for it.

I had fun reading it due to the funny manga panels, but as learning resource it's trash imo.

Please don't just say X or Y is shit and tell me what you like or dislike about it.

Are there any tools that allow you to scan text, grab all words, compares them to what you already have in Anki and lastly adds definitions and readings to them so you can add them in a deck?

Basically what I want to do is make myself a deck of whatever anime/manga I'm gonna read so I don't have to pause every 15 seconds to look up a word.

That's obvious too. 壮絶に is used there with 寝過ごした to lampshade how abnormal level of "oversleeping" it was. Of course normally 壮絶に isn't something you'd use with oversleeping, just as oversleeping isn't something you'd use about being cryogenically frozen. But together it works. Not that I know of.

It's pretty straight forward, for the most part.
You click ">10 minutes", and it holds it on the stack for roughly that long. If you're going through your cards fast, then naturally, you're going to have cards stack up faster.

It's timer based from what I understand, so going faster doesn't mean you're going to get the red cards sooner.

Yes, actually. I am not going to link them though because you would just be wasting your time. Such programs would indeed be very helpful, but the problem is Japanese has no spaces so computer text parsing is very difficult, and running it through these programs results in tons of nonexistent vocabulary entries being created that were not in the original material. Not to mention that this is a fools' errand anyway, since just because a word isn't in your Anki deck doesn't mean you don't know it. Doing it the way you propose would result in hundreds to thousands of redundant words depending on the length of your source material. Yes, mining words intermittently is annoying but that's why many recommend VNs as starter material since they are easier to mine from. And if you don't want to do that, there's always the Yotsuba Reading Pack for volumes 1 and 2, which will get yout through those no problem.

If you still want to try this out the tools are hidden away somewhere in the depths of koohii and JA-Dark. You may also have success checking LOGH anon's posts in the archive.

Try to make your imagery as concrete as possible, but don't worry too much about having perfect stories. I used the Koohii stories. Just pick one, even if it's shit it'll work out eventually. I did 30 a day at first but towards the end started slacking and only did 15-20. Hardest cards apparently (with 4 lapses each) were 秒, 返, and 惰, although they seem easy now that I've done vocab.

I feel like I'm not really progressing. I finished TK and am 2000~ words into core and do 1 hour of reading everyday, but pretty much every more complicated line I don't get, and I don't know how to figure it out. So I just look at the words in it and continue on. Does "reading more" really work, or what can I do to dissect sentences to better understand them?

N3 requirements are really low. It's like 600 unique kanji and Tae Kim tier grammar. I'd say if you can read NTR shit with no problems then you are closer to N2 than N3. Not quite there though.

I mixed up 変人 with 恋人, but I don't feel so bad since it looks like even japanese people commit that mistake.

I'm following Tae Kim, and I'm having a bit of a hard time holding on to grammar studies. Would it benefit me to go back through and read through it again, and maybe take light notes to remind myself or try to solidify what I'm learning? I had a lot of people saying to do grammar before kanji and vocab, but when looking at the vocab study guides, I don't know what any of the kanji mean, or what any of the put together kana mean (maybe not ANY, but the majority of it I don't know. It takes years to learn a language, you're not going to notice your progression because it's spread out over such a long period of time, but it is happening, keep reading and you will progress

You should however make sure that you're making an effort to look up and understand new grammar that you come across, it's all well and good spending 2 seconds looking up new vocab, but you have to do the same thing with grammar, otherwise your progress will legitimately be slow
