If Hollywood wants to make more anime adapted movies, why don't they use an actual series that's easy to adapt without butchering the characters and setting. Black Lagoon is literally one of the only series that could make for a decent adaptation. Most of the characters are white or black (aside from the Asian protagonist which they'd probably change to a white lead) and if you could take anything from it and turn it into a movie, you could literally just use the aspects of guns, action and drinking and smoking, and still make it relatively close to the main setting of the series.

I agree, however most of the movie would feasibly cover only the first (maybe second arc). A lot of the backstreet back story involving Revy would have to be squeezed. If they made just one movie to cover like the first 4 chapters, it's possible. But if they wanted to make a sustainable market out of it, it would be rushed and bad.

considering it was modeled after western summer blockbusters it would make a FANTASTIC movie or even series of movies.

Yeah, it's already kind of aimed at a western audience; It wouldn't be that hard to make into a summer blockbuster. Even Ghost in the Shell, which is getting a western adaptation, would be harder to market because cyberpunk is somewhat niche (at least compared to blockbuster action).
