just like in college. but seriously, they had to introduce some new characters since they attend to different classes and they still have the club shenanigans to keep it on topic (music, obviously) And when you got from highschool to college/university you usually do broaden your social circle.

They don't attend the same class now, and a lot of the time they were still together. It just introduced a few more characters to keep the flow of the story. Again, it would be pretty boring if everything kept the same even though they had one of the most drastic changes in life. (and I personally like the "rivalry" side of the things.)

Literally who? Akira? Just because she is a stuck up cunt doesn't mean she is like Azunyan. I felt really bad for the anime ending at Azusa being left behind, but still, the idea on the manga of keeping both stories parallel feels awkward for me because it gives me the impression that time is standing still. I know it's kinda retarded since obviously stuff is going forward, but seeing a place that you've been in for a good chunk if time and you finally leave and then going back to it like nothing changed really fucks with my head, just like non non biyori repeat did, but that's just me being weird.

The manga ended like that because it got axed. I wonder how Kakifly feels knowing that even today even the most expensive merchandize sells as long it as the K-on name on it unless of course he the one producing it. He still gets his money but I bet it hurts.

Well I would be pretty happy with it too.

As for Kakifly, I never really looked into his personal opinions about it but I think he should be at least somewhat proud of what he accomplished, yeah, sure, they sold (and still sell) the heck of the k-on image, but that's only possible because a lot of people (like me) really liked it. It's a curse and a blessing, every show that does really well will have this fate, K-on just got it worse because it's music related and they could exploit it even more. But even then, that was the thing that I could relate the most with the show/manga.

The only thing that is somewhat shameful is the live performances. It's pretty retarded that they just make an act instead of playing when a good chunk of the story is about of the struggle of getting "gud".

I started with other all girls SOL like Gochiusa, NNB, etc And eventually I give K-on a try and at first I thought it was not that great but I end up loving it.

I don't know if is the best SOL but I did had a great time watching it. My only complain is that it as a really slow start even for this kind of show.

Yea those are not very good but is mostly because they never expected the show to succeed the way it did since it was the work of a rookie director and a bunch of inexperienced Seiyu. They provably use to test Yamada's potential and since it sold like pancakes they give her 24 more episodes 2 ovas and a movie but it was to late to change the seiyu. I mean just compare the animation between s1 and s2 they obviously decided it was safe to invest more money resources in the franchise.

I think they all fitted really well in the anime, I know it's kinda hard to push people who never really had any kind of direct contact with creating music to do it in such a short term, but I don't think people would mind too much some random dudes playing the instruments for them. Well, that's not really a issue, it just triggers me a little bit because it's so far off the message of the anime, but I guess they didn't have another choice other than not do it, and for what I head people and Japan didn't really care about the mostly playbacked stuff since it's more for the visuals. Other than their voices I really couldn't empathize with them as much as I empathize with the characters on the show, but again I being a kind of an ass since this stuff is just extra stuff.

Both Kakifly and Yamada did splendidly well in my opinion. Shame that manga was axed. Even worse that the anime might be over for good. I would hope they did at least one more thing so I can get my "happily ever after" kind of ending, even if this meant just more material so they could milk merch of it, but that's just me.
