Yes a knight from a common blooded family would have different restrictions then a knight from a noble blooded family, that is why knighthood was not inherited it had to be granted, it was still a noble title.

That's not being whiny, that's having a completely normal human reaction to a situation that was inhumane. Subaru not crying or breaking down at any point in the series would make the story unrealistic.

Deku, Mirai Nikki's Yuki or Deadman Wonderland's Ganta (UGH) would be crying in every episode. Subaru at least tries to pull himself together, swallow his emotions and even help others when he's the one who needs help the most.

If by 'noble' you mean someone who holds a rank higher than a commoner - then yes, these people are noble. If by 'noble' you mean however someone who would be referred to in contemporary sources as 'noble' and be regarded as noble by people who make up the ruling classes of free men, then he would not be noble.

It is factually something in-between the actual, (free) nobility and the commoner. Personally, I would refrain from calling it an actual nobility, simply because the term 'noble' is historically reserved to people who were noble by blood and historical sources distinguish between noble knights and non-noble knights.

What should be noted though is that this distinction became less pronounced with passing time. The knightly families of ministerials became more powerful over the years and by the late middle ages they were essentially 'real' nobility. The same later happened to the families of patricians in the Free Imperial cities, who were originally families of merchants or craftsmen but became de facto nobility. Originally however, becoming a knight did not make you a nobleman - it made you a knight.

I think the bigger issue here is is that there is just too big of a training gap between someone like Reinhard and Barusu.

It would take literally years and thousands of deaths to even approach him, and even then he might not be physically gifted enough to ever even reach that level. Plus these knights have magical knowledge and skill that Barusu also would have to learn, which would be difficult considering he'd only have at most a few days each reset that would allow him to make relations with the people who would train him, and then actually glean meaningful knowledge.

What you still don't get is that 'noble' is a term that is used in historical sources. It is not just a modern term which is used to distinguish between people who commanded some sort of respect due to holding a social rank and the commoners who did not. A knight held a social rank, he commanded respect. But so did a bishop for example, or the mayor of a large city. Neither the knight nor the bishop or the mayor were necessarily noblemen however in the sense that they would be attributed as such in historical sources. In fact, when it comes to knights - and I can't repeat this often enough - medieval sources literally distinguish between 'noble' knights and knights who were not 'noble'.

You may say: oh well, they were above commoners and such so they were something 'akin to nobility' and we might as well call them 'noble', but in the historical context they were not.

What should be noted here however is that this changed over time. Approaching the late middle ages, knighthood did indeed become equivalent to nobility, or rather the formerly 'common' families that formed the majority of the knightly class essentially became noble themselves and thus knighthood became less attainable as a form of social mobility to the point where pretty much all knights were noblemen. For the High Middle Ages this was not yet the case though.
