The execution is garbage but her doing that out of fear of dying is not far fetched, she asked that they work together and survive, but once her life was on the line, she figured she'd ask the bully to date her, so she has someone to fall back on, and guilt trip MC to go in her place.

But then the author decided "this isn't edgy enough, and i need a good excuse for when MC comes back angry to kill his childhood friend", so he did a complete 180º on her personality, which from what was established already made no sense.
