I read a newer manga awhile back about two girls that get transfered and the pretty one has no power while the otaku type average girl has the power to make weapons and shit. She only wants pretty people to be the MC so she follows the MC around making shit for her in front of all the bishounens that are around her. Its kinda nice because you see the story from a interesting PoV. Recently she got found out by a keikaku master shota aiming for the throne and it was pretty dumb watching her being dumb when she has a godlike ability and feels completely trapped by this guy.
Its also fun how everyone shits on her for not being attractive. There was even a serious scene where the two characters that are basically the only ones who give a shit that she exists and knows her secret come save her and she's crying because she thinks she's worthless because she's not pretty, but then she feels guilty about groping one of the characters boobs for too long so of course she asks that out loud.

Isekai genre is just a really cheap, easy way to introduce a magic/sword world.
The problem is that most authors are either too untalented or lazy to introduce a compelling, unique world with their own cultures and all, thus just focus on the OPness of the MC or this super hot harem to distract the readers from noticing.

I mean, call Mushoku Tensei shit if you want, but you have to admit that the author actually gave some thought behind the world building and culture.
Log horizon is technically an Isekai RPG shit, but the world pioneering and worldbuilding was also compelling.
The more recent This worlds magic is too far behind by Sky is also an Isekai OP MC bullshit, but the Magitech wanking is extremely enjoyable for some reason.

The delinquent can only use magic of the most basics and very ineffective compared to the magic that the others have. His small flame vs. a larger flame from others and it gets bigger. Power of healing scrapes vs. healing stab wounds. Enemies are able to regenerate (to an extent depending on which demons they are), strong, cast certain types of powerful magic.

The MC will be a native girl. She was born in a low class noble family, with a territory so out of nowhere near the borders of the kingdom.

Her parents were lost in the recent war against the demihuman.. She had only her caretakers and servants with her.

She was an intelligent and curious child, reading magic books on her own as she was a mere 8 years old. When she was 11, she was already as proficient in magic as your average mage.

One day, the demihumans invaded, destroying her home and everyone she cared. She only survived because she was attending the school for mages far away from her home. Once again, they took everything from her. She didn't cry however. She turned that pain into a drive to learn all she could about magic and grew strong.

Meanwhile, the kingdom, losing battle left and right, used a forbidden ritual to summon heroes from another world. Done in secrecy, they called some dude from Japan who never wanted to play hero. Being the black ops of mages, they tried to put a mind control spell on him, only to backfire horribly as it drove the man to distrust the kingdom in its entirety. The man ended up joining the demihumans in their conquest as a result.

The girl grew up to be the most powerful mage the kingdom had ever had. When she was 15, she managed to defeat the former strongest mage in a trial battle. High hopes were placed on her to become the person who may just turn the tide of the war around.

Eventually, the girl and the man met in combat. The man was surprised to meet an opponent this strong. He was forced to apply modern knowledge combined with his magic to gain an edge over her. However, the girl would eventually learn his tricks, and then used them herself. Slowly but surely, the invasion was thwarted.

Now, after this point, they may eventually work together when they discover the rotten eggs in both sides that are perpetuating the war.
