The characters and atmosphere generally gave an adult taste to this series. With the stage and war set in a time where individuals can’t help but move in one way, however this scenery brings out the drama splendidly and there are many surprising elements. So I really like this kind of work.

He’s the guy that trusts his mind and not get engrossed in sentiments and humanity; I felt that he’s highly logically and possess a sharp coldness about him. And whenever he glares at someone, you feel a petrifying fear. However it’s not like he does it like “I’m frightening, aren’t I!”, but rather he sees the fear from the reacting people around him.

I believe this may be an extraordinary world for everyone watching this show. However, amongst all that the characters and story shows the limits of humanity and eliminates benevolence. This is a series that you wouldn’t be able to experience often, so I hope everyone enjoys that part of this anime.

Though it takes place during the war, it’s definitely not series about guns firing all around, but of the psychological warfare between spies. This is just my personal experience, but I participated in a program last year (2015) that showed how Britain viewed the German military. In ep 11, Germany is the set stage, so to view this place from the near same timing but different viewpoint was very interesting.

I saw him as a very loyal person. He’s Wolff’s, Ginga (Banjo)’s character, subordinate, and though Johan’s frightened by him, he also holds a certain degree of respect for him. Colonel Wolff also gives Johan a lot of commands, so I felt the distance between them is a lot closer compared to his other subordinates.
