StrikerS could work, but it needs tweaks.
Push it back to later and cover events in Nanoha and co's teens. Some of the characters that later appears in StrikerS could appear, people like Subaru's parents, for instance.
The transition to magical military with politics could also be handled as Nanoha and co grows up, for example, have Mr. Ground Forces Commander(From StrikerS) object to her being deployed to deal with some huge ass monster because it makes the ground forces look bad or some shit.

Not really.
By GoD they pretty much got out of the whole "edgy version of originals" thing and became their own characters.

Then as they appear in more stuff, their designs are still heavily based on the originals, but things like their devices which are still based on the originals but given their own twist, like in Innocent, Luciferion has a more rounded demon-esque look to it, while RH has flat surfaces and is more angular.

Not really, TH has nothing to do with Nanoha actual setting aside of reusing few characters names and looks.

It's nothing alike to let say FSN VN and then anime adapted from it.

Nanoha just kind of suffered the natural degradation that comes with being a magical girl franchise going through the midst of the light novel boom and eventually coming out through the post 2008 economic bubble bursting while picking up all the bad tropes and lazy production and writing tendencies that come with those things that weren't around when it was first conceived as a mecha/moe franchise way back in 2003.

This was also before Shinbo joined Shaft to become one of Aniplex's (whom the anime rights transferring to was a death sentence for it's potential to be anything other than a cash grab franchise) primary producer bitches, before Haruhi jump started the industries light novel adaptation obsession and before a lot of really bad trends that ruined character and scenario writing in anime. Vivid and Force are very much a result of them being conceived in a post 2008 landscape.

Really though you could just sum it up as Nanoha's potential was dampened by being around long enough to enter a bad era for anime and killed by being inherited by Aniplex of all entities. I mean King are no saints either but their still a much better alternative. My guess on the BD/DVD thing is they're still haggling over who actually has the rights to release it.

Isn't the simple answer that with pairing Fate with Nanoha the viewers get 2 waifu in place of 1, waifu fans are happy, yuri fans are happy, it also makes the show a bit more unique than the rest, and it completely fuels fandom fantasy in all directions, if Tsuzuki paired Nanoha with Yuuno or Fate with Chrono they would enver get afar with the franchise as they did, cause as it seems Fate being Nanoha initial rival and then turning her bff/waifu was the thing which had the biggest impact here, aside of cool magical beam spam.

Giving them boyfriends or them being on-screen kissing girlfriends would betray the loyal fans expactations, instead pairing them together in such way without showing them being completely yuri on-screen gives place for ambigious side which Japanese love so much.

Yeah, that's about right. The first season falls apart completely if you don't look at it as a lesbian love story with some mahou shoujo trappings. As an action/adventure story it doesn't work because it lacks a proper climax (the Big Bad just falls over dead on her own) and has multiple episodes with no action at all, and what else is there? School drama? Pfft, it's not drama when everybody is best friends with everybody.

Basically, it's all about Nanoha trying to hit on Fate, and finally succeeding when she was at her most aggressive (proving once again that rape is love).

Actually, Nanoha succeeded by finally getting Precia to go all uber-bitch and denounce Fate's existence as a worthless hunk of tube-grown flesh and then gave her the metaphorical hug of a life time.

The manga series varied between 'tame and boring tournament arc' and 'serious but not quite'.

The tone of the franchise never had suitable stakes for protagonist team. Yes bad general and a few antagonists died in strikers, but the stakes never felt real.

The manga series continued the problem of introducing even fucking more characters without fully developing the old ones. Skipping Nanoha's teen years was a mistake.

Lore and adventure before dealing with vivio growing up would have been better, granted she is technically a lore ball as well, just not the kind of story I was interested in.
