I disagree with this. There was a lot of buildup leading up to Super Saiyan 2 since Vegeta's speech after his loss to Android 18.

The Kai earrings having magical fusion properties is a much better example of a Dragonball asspull.

I don't have a good memory, but from what I remember in this season, Twin Star Exorcist is one lazy piece of writing. I'm not even saying it's terrible. It's just thoroughly lazy.
My favorite example is the secret underground hall. When all the exorcists from the area have no idea that it even exists and they're invited just because and they're the only ones who attend without uniforms despite the fact that they have uniforms.
Then the lead exorcist insults the MC and edges him into a fight but instead of fighting him his attention suddenly goes to the girl.
There were other examples of lazy writing that I saw before I dropped the show, but they weren't really asspulls.

As for GER, Chariot Requiem already showed us requiem stands are intense reality warpers, and the whole chase for the arrow made it clear whoever got it gets the win button.

Saint Seiya is basically the proto Bleach, and it's 10 times worse at asspulls. There actually was a "the same attack won't work twice on a Saint" rule that came up optionally whenever the author couldn't think of a way to finish a fight. In the last arc they were literally using it to stand there and shrug off ki blasts on the account of having seem them before. It didn't count whenever it was time for the hero to use his signature move for the 100th time and end the fight, of course.
