They wouldn't show trailer footage from episodes that wouldn't have been animated at this point. I'd also like him having to put down the twisted abomination that is Rosine, someone who got fucked over, really. She just wanted something more than her life. Something more than getting slapped around by her father and probably, by her future husband and getting ground into the dirt and an early grave by hard labor and disease.
And she made a deal with the devil to escape. It made her into something horrible. But it was better than what she could expect. It wasn't really good for anyone around her, but her life was so shit she didn't care.
Midland really fucking sucks.
If nothing else they should allude to that. Griffith was kind of being a fucking baby to get forced into his deal, and the Count should have had better judgement than to you know, make a deal with the fucking DEVIL when he got butthurt over his wife being a witch, Rosine's life sort of sucked.
Still dumb, but driving home how much Midland sucks bears repeating. And then it actually gets worse when Ganesheka rolls into town and Griffith gets his very own apocalypse to aggrandize him as the messiah.

I'm hoping we get the Lost Children Chapter and Black Swordsman arc in ova format, maybe. Maybe they didn't want to squish all that material into 24 episodes and butcher those arcs? I'm hoping cause Guts completely skimping over the blackswordsman phase is completely awkward and makes both the eclipse almost pointless and makes Guts development into a more sullen and less edgy character also pointless. Those arcs are VITAL to the story.

True, I don't think Blackswordsman arc Guts was bad (barring the demon sex in the opening page) and it makes sense that he's at his edgiest cause this is right when he just met Puck and was just killing apostles left and right. And he does show some remorse, he just put on a facade a lot like when he felt some guilt to collete and her father dying but tried laughing it off when Puck said it wasn't his fault.
I do think that him crying after Theresia saying she'll kill him was kinda meh. I get that it was to show Guts isn't completely coldhearted, but it also felt too much of a jump from what we've seen so far. Compared to him telling Jill to find her own way and that she shouldn't run from her "battlefield" the latter was much more expertly handled.
