I'm pretty pleased with myself for recognizing the melody that played during the baton competition in Tamako Love Story was Ue wo Muite Aruko by Kyu Sakomoto, the only japanese language song to ever chart in the US (retitled for American consumption as 'Sukiyaki'). This was despite that fact that it was a thinly veiled protest song against the US occupation of Japan after WWII.
So does this mean that Kyoani does not want Americans watching their shows? Do they feel that Americans without Japanese blood are unfit to claim their girls as waifu?

Or maybe Yamada simply likes that song.
They don't accept american money either.
>>142408900
Yamada probably just likes it.
>>142408900
I'm pleased that I got to know that song because of Tamako Love Story in the first place. It's a nice song.
>>142408976
Wouldn't be surprised. One of Sakamoto's other songs was sung by Rikka in Chuu2.
>>142409109
I know the song even before TLS because the song was by Sakamoto, whose other famous song (Miagete Goran Yoru no Hoshi wo) was in Chuu2.
>>142408900
It's a pretty famous song, so I'd say you only get 2 weeb points for it.
But I think it's important to note that the song was (in story) chosen by Midori. Keep that in mind while listening to/reading the lyrics.

>One of Sakamoto's other songs was sung by Rikka in Chuu2.
Which one was it?
>>142409215
Yamada had nothing to do with Chuu2, though.
And that song may have very well been in the book (not sure, however).
>>142409269
miagete goran yoru no hoshi wo
>>142409246
>1414449421306.jpg
Where is it from?
>>142409319
If I recall correctly, Rikka's dad being dead is anime original, so I doubt it.
>>142409403
Some fanbook for the movie. I forget the name of it.
I'll go ahead and post the rest (or what I have of the rest).

Oh fuck ;_;

Next is >>142409246
This is the second half of it.

I don't need to watch the anime before the movie right?
I have some interest in the movie but none in the series.
Done.
>>142410097
I think they all collectively are saying something about being cummed inside.Since this is a nice thread, I'll translate just one. Which.
>>142410248
You don't, but you'll be missing out a bit.
The anime is pretty shit in my opinion, but watching at least the first 4 or 5 episodes or so will likely help you enjoy the movie more.
>>142410248
The movie can be watched alone but you'll be missing out on the most atmospheric anime this decade. The movie is great and all but it didn't focus on the market atmosphere like the series did and that's why I think you should watch both.
>>142410250
>Since this is a nice thread, I'll translate just one. Which.
Yamada one
>>142410327
the anime would be good if you removed every scene involving the fucking bird
>>142410790
The bird was fine. Stop the circlejerk it's already 4 years since the show ended.

.. and add more Kanna

Nigga wut
It's just about a guy depressed over losing his girlfriend.
PS: Sakamoto died in the crash of Japan Airlines Flight 123, the deadliest single-plane disaster in history.

Dear Hinako-san,
Tamako finally has an important person in her life.
And I'm sure that together they'll be just as happy as you were with Mamedai-san. So please, don't worry. Smile. And of course, always shine down brightly on everyone.
The mamedaifuku is delicious again today.

Rokusuke Ei wrote this song while coming back from a protest against the Treaty of Mutual Cooperation and Security between the United States and Japan and feeling dejected about the failure of the protest movement, but the lyrics were rendered purposefully generic so that they might refer to any lost love.
>>142410248
Must watch episodes:
1 for introductions,
5 for Midori-Mocchi deal,
9 for dad andhissong,
11 for more Midori goodness.
3 if you're interested in Shiori
But the whole show is very nice.

You forgot ep 2.
Anonymous, you forgot ep 2!
>>142411734
Ah, the valentine one. Great, but not essential for the movie.
I want to taste Anko's manko.
>>142411894
or just watch the whole damn thing just for the sake of doing it

>>142412284
It was played in Hyouka as well.
