Some servants get buffed, some servants get weakened. The class container can't let them be under E rank so the shittier ones get bumped up. The class container can't let them be too much above A rank, so the stronger ones get brought down.

Functionally they're all brought to almost the same level so there can be some degree of everyone having a chance. Although even without being brought up due to the servant mold, lesser rank heroes did still change the world and received some amount of worship from it. The amount of fame and worship still powers them up a bit and gives them a solid legend at times.

Nope. True Magic is not magecraft. Magecraft is a human-created system for interacting with Gaia that produces imitations of miracles, and weakens as humanity comes to understand mysteries. True Magic is a stable path to the Root that allows one to use a part of the Root's infinite power over reality.

There were never more than five True Magics. True Magic is a categorization of things that are actual miracles that modern magi (read: magi post-Solomon) have documented as possibilities reachable through the advancement of modern thaumaturgy. In other words, the True Magics are things that the Mage's Association has identified as the goals towards which all magi strive. Magic prior to Solomon was granted by deities and was almost indistinguishable from True Magics, since both are a case of drawing on a power beyond mankind to achieve miracles.

Medea's spells are powerful and prior to the Mage's Association they would have been considered miracles, but they have no relation to True Magic because they are simply god-given powers.

True Magic cannot degrade because it's an absolute power over reality that comes from a source beyond Gaia. Mankind could never degrade Akasha's power because Akasha is the foundation of reality itself. However, mankind's ability to reach Akasha and draw on its power does degrade over time as magecraft degrades.

You need to understand that Nasu's talking about two different things here. The first is "True Magics of the Modern Era". The other thing is more properly translated as miracles than True Magic.

Modern magecraft is imitations of the miracles produced in the Age of Gods, AKA the "True Magic" (as that translation claims) of that era. There was no distinction made between True Magic that leads to the Root and "True Magic" of the Gods because they performed functionally identically. Both produced miracles that were, and still are, beyond human capability.

Modern True Magic is specifically miracles attained via a path to the Root. It is the only way for modern magi to produce actual miracles anymore, because Gods aren't handing out magic power like candy.
