They're directed by the same guy, so they look similar, and they both have a "old timey yet not quite" setting

But Kabaneri seems to be about classic social outcast/misfits/hiearchy stuff whereas Titan is about whether or not you want to take control of your own fate given that doing so might end up in being turned into mulch
