I just watched a few episodes of Dagashi Kashi and I found it unbearable to watch, with forced references to "otaku culture" every 5 minutes and borderline retarded humor. Currently watching JoJo cuz it's the only worthy anime for me this year.

Yes but it was written in 1992 when these terrible shows/mangas were not as widespread as now, also araki made the character of yukkako as a comment on what he perceived as shallow female characters without flaws in manga, it's also just 2 eps and continues to have JoJo's trademark bizarre feel throughout
