Blue Eyes White Dragons, Heroes, Blackwings and Numbers. Did Arc-V introduce a super popular archetype that Konami will keep producing for years to come? Performapals are just slightly behinds Blackwings in cards but I doubt they're that popular that we'll still be seeing them years later and Raidraptors, while popular still aren't as popular as the older cards.

Synchro wasn't a pile of shit whatsoever. The worst that could be said of it was that it was too slowly paced and focused entirely on character development and neglected to carry on the main plot as far as a 50 ep arc should, which made about 10-15 eps of it (the stuff before King's Gambit) into something of a crawl in the context of weekly viewing considering we were coming right off of the battle royale climax. Once Roger's wild ride got going, it was arguably more exciting than standard in a lot of places.

The same flaws with synchro cannot be said of XYZ arc which has major plot happenings within the first three episodes.

The thing about synchro, is that it took its time entirely for the sake of fleshing out characters in a setting that wasn't completely WIN CARD GAMES OR DIE. Additionally, it gave a proper venue for Yuya to really think deeply about how he should evolve his style of dueling to reach audiences enveloped in conflict, which wasn't explored at all in Standard, where they just preached "DUELS WITH EGAO, YUYA" and filled his head with bullshit that got him landing flat on his ass half the time in Synchro arc.

Consequently, during the start of XYZ arc, he feels a lot more grounded and understanding of his own flaws and how his efforts might not pan out due to differing situational context than he was at the end of standard.

It had less central plot events, yes, but I'd hardly call it a waste of time.

I stand by my choice.
Burn has a calm beginning and gradually builds up into an energetic chorus while calming slowing down at the rocket scene. While upbeat and happy it manages to do it pretty well.
Kirifuda starts calmly with the chorus but then blasts the theme while the logo comes and then goes back to calm while showing the characters. The switch in the bad guys pan and the start countdown is really good and i love how the chorus is repeated and the tone changes(OERD scene). I dont really like how the theme is played at the end for quite some time though.
BelievexBelieve start is really good, that is until the logo drop ends. What follows isnt that good but the beat is really good. The part from the pendulum scene to "just breaking the wall" is really good with the contrast between the rest of the song making it great. The rest of it is great as well and catches you in it's rhythm and playful atmosphere. BelieveXBelieve is so damned catchy.
I dont know what the fuck is going on with Hanate. It starts slow and somewhat boring. However, from the Lancer scene till the end it's so good. It's so energizing. I still find myself singing that part from time to time.
Since we ran out of song Light of Hope is last.
The start seems promising and i absolutely love bells in songs but then that that autotune comes in and it's horrible. The quick strong and toned beat that follows the title is something i love though. The slow part is nice and tries to build up the next part but for me the next part isnt good. It picks up from that scene with Yugo till "I do believe in myself" but the ending seems lackluster. It is better though than Kirifuda's ending with just the theme of the song playing
