But scythes are shit weapons. When they're in the harvest configuration (like Crescent Rose is), then you can only ever cut something by pulling the blade toward you. That's a bad idea in general, and doubly so against giant monsters that may be too big to get the scythe around properly.

When peasants pressed their scythes into service as combat weapons, they rotated the blades ninety degrees and turned it into a polearm. That was much better, but you're still better served with a glaive (with a dedicated stabbing tip and the edge on the right side of the curve) or a halberd.
