If 1 sees that 2 and 3 are of the same colour then he will shout, because he can only be the other colour.

If he sees that their colours are different then he won't, because he can't work out which of black or white he is.

Then 2, hearing him silent, will know that his colour is different from 3's, and hence work out what colour he is. 2 will shout.

If I'm right, basically it's

Anyway, the Logic is that 2, since he can see there is a black hat in front of him, knows that he cannot be wearing a black hat, since if he were, the guy behind him would see there are two black hats, and would know he has to be wearing a white hat. since the 1st man does not know this, the 2nd man knows that he is wearing a white hat.

Houtarou Oreki falls in love with Chitanda Eru.

Unable to confess, he is gifted by a deus ex machina with the rich girl's phone number. Never minding the strange area code, he immediately calls her, and is overjoyed to find out that she has a crush on him as well.

But, the next day, when he recounts the previous day's confessions to Chitanda, she only looks at him with a perplexed expression. After some investigation, Oreki deduces that the girl he called is not the same girl he fell in love with. In fact, she doesn't exist in this universe at all. She is the girl's alternate universe counterpart, who has fallen in love with the wannabe detective's own AU self, who too is blissfully unaware of her crush.

Hijinks ensue as the two strike up a deal to give each other their darkest, most private secrets in order to equip the other with the weapons they need to conquer the heart of their other selves. While the two chase their respective loved ones, DRAMA ensues as they begin to fall in love with each other instead and question the NATURE of CURIOSITY.
