Was Gatchaman Crowds Insight a direct warning about letting memes and groupthink determine the outcome of an election?
>>
>>140396785
It was very much saying people are inherently stupid and that groupthinking shouldn't be rushed. Like seriously, today's state is literally Gatchaman Crowds. Imperial Japan.
>>
>>140396785
I thought it was more of a social commentary on the mob mentality in general

Both seasons are great, but my opinion is biased because I love them and want others to watch it as well.

The characters and story in the first season are interesting and well-done with a nice message by the end.

The second season re-uses and adds a few characters, but the re-used characters don't really get much screentime, sadly. The message it's trying to send to the audience is more so the focus of the show. But I forgive it for that since it's a really strong message, especially with how relevant it is right now.

Despite my bias, definitely give the first season a shot. It's different and has a nice artstyle (to me) to go along with it that's actually trying to say something.

Seconding >>140397940. Both seasons are phenomenal if you're willing to either embrace or look past some inherent wackiness. I really like how each season has a well presented theme to it, and Hajime, while I found her annoying at first, ending up being a really great character.
>>140398054
Without spoiling too much season 1 was roughly about how mankinds inherent good is greater than it's inherent evil, and season 2 is about the dangers of complacency and mob mentality, and how conflict is sometimes necessary to maintain the greater good.

It's been a while, but the first season is along the lines of not relying too much or getting too upset about things on the internet. The season deals with the Gatchaman revealing themselves after the main character, Hajime, joins the team and them getting backlash and such. But that it's not all bad and can be helpful in certain situations.

Second season is more political and about how groupthink and peer pressure can be bad. Its story is also quite relevant with the current election in the United States.

Typing it out makes it seem silly, but I really enjoyed the way the anime told both of its stories and wish it had more seasons. Maybe it's done in a childish or underdeveloped way, but I still loved both seasons of it.

>>
>>140397188
I like season 1 a lot more than season 2. I still enjoyed season 2 but you might get turn off by the politics. If you enjoy the characters in season 1, half of them pretty much become background characters in season 2 in favor of more annoying characters.
>>
>>140398458
>Maybe it's done in a childish or underdeveloped way
I think Gatchaman Crowds just does it in a simple and straightforward way so it works as an anime, since the actual world is much more complex. After all, it's relevant to the current election, but it wouldn't grant them the same power as SugitaKana did. The political system in the United States also isn't really about the people, or is it? because of money being power.
>>
>>140398298

Nowhere to be found.

Also, Kuu-sama takes the form of frogs instead of whatever they were supposed to be.
>>
>>140398721
It's not like it wouldn't have worked as an anime if they made the politics a bit more believable, but it probably would've required more episodes and might have made the moral of the story harder to get through. I do think they could have done a lot better with it but they certainly did well enough, at least for me.

John Kerry was a pretty weak candidate who ran on being "not bush" like romney ran on being "not obama". How is this a question? Off topic political discussion on /a/, which will likely go through the roof around that time. Not to mention just general /pol/ meme spam. This thread is fine, gatchaman crowds was a very politically charged series, most anime are not however and a rise in that sort of discussion will be obvious.

>>
>>140404193
>We can pay for it or they can, really doesn't matter actually.

It does matter because it's your money. What's the difference between sending your money to build a pointless wall or just burning it? Nothing. It's just useless expenditure that doesn't really fix the underlying problem.

The Mexican government will never pay for that wall. So it's coming out of your pocket through taxes.

Might as well just build a road to nowhere while you're at it.
>>
>>140404357
Anon, no need to run to conclusions. Feels so aggressive when you put it like that. It could just be that their ideologies are different than yours and they're unable to comprehend what you mean since they either don't want to or they're too uneducated. Both of which you can continue to help with.

>>
>>140404340
You can just get somebody who isn't an illegal to do their work, like non-illegal mexicans.
>>
>>140404418
Why do you believe that? There are definitely downsides that come along with immigrants, but there's benefits too. Trump building a wall would get rid of those benefits and potentially hurt the economic structure that the United States has at the moment.
>>
>>140404340
Immigrants get more in benefits than they pay in taxes, additionally because they are here illegally they work under the table and hence the "pay taxes" meme only works when immigrants specifically steal social security numbers- which is a crime- in order to file for tax credits for being poor according to their stated income. Likewise this discounts the various other crimes they may participate in- the porous border has been noted as a source of illegal drugs and hence is quite open to criminals from violent cartels. Mexico is actually quite fond of getting rid of troublesome elements by encouraging them to migrate here- the money they send back to mexico is money that the illiterate peasants and criminals coming would otherwise not have earned in America and ensures the quashing of reformist politicians in mexico who might otherwise win election were impoverished mexicans made to stay behind and figure out how to unfuck themselves without running away being an option. Additionally we find the fact that they have oh so many children to be a problem because in most districts those children are considered citizens- as they grow up and vote for politicians which support more generous social welfare policies this means more money and power is taken from the people who were born in this country to legal immigrants or citizens. The obvious longterm result when coupled with our problems of funding social security longterm is a financial situation which is even more out of control- it isn't an understatement that bernie sanders would be able to win in a future mexamerica. The net result of course would be the extremely wealthy people fleeing the country abroad because the USA up to this point has been quite generous in letting the rich get away with what they like, while the middle class is ground down to pay for people who never graduated highschool.

The wall and deportation of illegals have a real goal in mind, real consequences that have a tough prospect.

Sure we would lose tons of cheap labor, but we are losing the American experience like that. Good old family values rely upon picking beans and other assorted vegetables.

Think of it this way. If you go to a university or just live in most southern states you will see tons of these mexicans and it will bother you. Suddenly their culture and people are taking the place of what was before + many blue collar jobs breeding like rabbits.

This all goes beyond Mexicans of course, with bigger problems of how asians hold monopoly over manufacturing power.

Anyways Anime & Manga faggots take it to /pol/ I'm sure they will understand your pleas.

Hence why Trump wants to decrease total immigration on top of deporting illegals, ensuring that companies will have to hire from desperate Americans before they hire desperate immigrants.
>>

Illegal immigration =/= mexican legal immigration

Its simple numbers. Legal immigration has caps and standards for a reason. 30-40% of CA prisons are illigals, for example.

Its not about keeping the slaves around to pick the cotton, its about numbers laws and reality. What is it with 'muh berries' its not even an argument since banning illegal workers has worked. Allabama did it and in 2 years they have doubled the amount of working black americans. You dont hate black people do you anon? Fucking racist.

Thats not how it works. The fines he is proposing would literally destroy any small business that did so, and a huge chunk in any large business. Just because a mega corp could take the hit, doesnt mean they would want to repeatedly. And you also must realize that losing shareholders money is a great way to destroy your company.

Basically his plan is to punish those businesses heavily, and then deport the foreign illegals being used as slave labor. If you are against this, you are litterally a racist who thinks companies should be able to own slaves and probably would have fought for the south in the civil war.
