Why do some people get all defensive when you tell them to read

Certain people which I shall not explicitly name hate reading.

They aren't defending their anime, they're defending their own laziness

Moving pictures make it easier, and anime generally has less lines of text than a manga chapter.

The same reason why manga-anons get all buttfrustrated when you tell them that the anime has elements that a mere comic will never have. ie. sound and movement, and in most manga cases, colour.

I'm kinda glad that color is a rare occurrence for manga. Mainly in that I don't want them to end up like capeshit comics and just have color for the sake of it.
