See, the thing about the Pokemon Movie is that it's Pokemon. Anime wasn't that complex. Simple shit. Parents didn't need to learn a single thing.

With Digimon, not so much. First OVA was a prequel to the first series. Second OVA was a sequel to the first series. Third wasn't even part of the previous series. So if you didn't finish the series by the time the movie came out, too bad son.

The movie OST is pretty decent. Not exactly the most listenable outside of it, but the arrangement and composition is pretty great even if born from the tradition of "movie music." Kids in America is a bit unfitting though.

I hate localization because it brought about the extremely cynical Angela Anaconda short that preceded it.
