It's not worth it at all. I was reading/watching it when it was still running and by the middle of the Future arc it was getting really stale. I feel like the author had a lot of potential to make a Vento Aureo-style manga and she just let it fall into a typical shonen formula.

The characters are as /fa/ as JoJo though, and early arcs will always be a nostalgic memory for me.

Who else would enjoy the starting beat of suicidal thoughts to play when notorious B.I.G.'s user appears?

First of all, people thought JoJo was done due to Stone Ocean's ending, and Steel Ball Run wasn't put under the JoJo name until a few volumes in, meaning people who read JoJo but didn't read Steel Ball Run would have to catch up.
Not only that, but Steel Ball Run switched from Weekly Shonen Jump to Ultra Jump when it rebranded under the JoJo name, which meant that Weekly Shonen Jump readers would have to switch to Ultra Jump to read it.
