>Hey guys, you know how we have a huge cast of girls?
>Let's just focus most of the screentime on only three of them!
What the fuck happened?
I watched CG to protect Uzuki's smile.
A-1 fucked up like they always do lately. Rin and Mio aren't even that bad in the original games, but current A-1 philosophy has them thinking they need to add pointless often hackneyed melodrama to everything in order to make it "more interesting" hence Mio's whole terrible subplot that didn't even make much sense.
Two of them are the best girls so I'm not totally disappointed.
>A show needs focus and characters to call "the main characters."
Yeah, 13 of them.
I'm really happy my favorite idol got a good amount of screen time.
>What the fuck happened?
The usual. Being an anime that was commissioned and made mostly to advertise something specific.
Which in this case is the mobile games, where your only guaranteed idols are either Rin, Uzuki, or Mio, whom you pick at the beginning (and tutorial Miku, in the case of the original mobage).
Thus, it was mandated that they would necessarily need to have more relative screen time than the others by the end.
The 2011 anime, similarly, was made to advertise Idolmaster 2, in which you could select any of the 13 idols from the beginning.
Thus it was mandated that each idol necessarily have at least one episode of focus to themselves and a relative balance of screen time.
Really helps that she's completely inoffensive and is pretty much perfect.
I use the term "perfect" broadly, she's still got the whole Russian into Japanese thin, and even though she's shown to be able to do anything, A-1 at least shows that she works and trains hard to be able to perform well and speak Japanese better, she puts effort in being perfect.
The [email protected] series just needs to avoid the melodrama and focus on light and fluffy episodes. Having an overarching plot is fine, and some conflict like President Kuro was okay. More slice of life and silly interacting between the various idols. This is a series that could actually pull off cakes doing cake things for an episode would be amazing. Just imagine an episode of Azusa, Kaede, Sanae, and the other cakes all hanging out, having drinks, and doing cake idol things.
The anime still did manage to make me appreciate all the other idols more, with the exception of Rin and Mio. I'd be down for more CG just to have a chance to see all the other girls. Guess it's on to Million Live, though.
I just want some after school party time with idols.
Forgot my song.
No it fucking wasn't.
Animation was fucking subpar at best.
You don't tease routines stating how:
>Hard the girls are practicing
>The secondaries are having a hard time with the choreography
>One almost quitting because
>Damn look at them practicing. They might be animating something damn good for the finale for everyone.
THE FUCKING FINALE WAS NOT EVEN WORTH THE WAIT.
MY FUCKING FACE WHEN THE FINALE CAME AND ALL THE SECONDARIES DID WAS FUCKING CLAP IN THE BACKGROUND.
I think we can all agree Love Laika was the best.
Point being two units that took ages to create synergy still managed to develop better than NG did over the course of 3 drama arcs and possibly more than 7 episodes.
I was looking at units that haven't blended well initially, Love Laika were pretty much "the right way", acting as the foil to most of NG's failures, eg NG's mini live vs LL's, Rin's explanation to join Krone vs Anya's, Mio's vision of being a leader vs Minami.
>you will never be a mentor to a baka.
Yes that fucking frame rate as well.
There were no even proper shots of good animation, lots of wide shots of glowing sticks. Lots of time when the camera was swinging the whole stadium and almost can see any animation happening. What the fuck.
That's why even if the Love Live movie had lots of 3d for the dances, at least you can see the fucking routines.
Don't get me wrong. The first series was fine. Except for the damn movie. Cinderella Girls though, for me was trash.
I will concede that point to you.
It makes you wonder just what the movie was trying to say.
Even clapping their hands in their air is too hard for the [email protected]?
Azusa's episode is the best.
For the movies I'd rather watch the silly movies the girls made than the dramatic stuff.
What does Uzuki smell like wen she's sick and has been laying in bed all day?
You're talking about the episode where she runs around in a wedding dress yeah? That and pic related were the best episodes.
Makoto was pretty cute that episode.
>Chihaya's thing had small tidbits
There's nothing wrong with that, anon. A lot of guys like small tidbits.
>it's a drama episode.
Would you watch zombie movies with her?
>Their fucking faces
Teenage girls or no, at this point you'd have to be spoilt as shit to not appreciate that applause
Anya's face always makes my heart warm.
The point is that her arc was spread throughout both cours, with the culmination in the second.
Is it because it had the cutest idol?
>you can't discuss this anime because it's based on a videogame
What's wrong with Miku, senpai?
OP pointed out how only those 3 got most of the focus despite having a main cast of 14. What he probably should know is that CG's love for putting NG in everything is a staple in the series.
What do you have against cute, lovable girls?
Lolis aren't dead. There is a bond that is forever shared by us all. I'm sure we're all thinking the same thing when we see this picture of Nina.
I almost can't believe just how much I'm in love with this beautiful lady. Azusa has me completely wrapped around her little finger.
And it feels so wonderful.
Except when you have 13 main characters, it feels like there are no main characters. It just doesn't work, you can't share that much screen time between characters and expect a show that flows. Love live did a better job of not trying to focus on every character at the same time and as a result ended up having a better story
Is it universally accepted that P-kun from CG is better? Not that the first one was bad or wasn't a nice guy.
I guess that does make her best in a way. Rika-nee is a bad influence.
I meant Mika-nee is a bad influence.
Probably, yeah. I never played the original game and I still need to finish the anime but LL is great.
>Except when you have 13 main characters, it feels like there are no main characters. It just doesn't work
So basically you never watched vanilla [email protected]
