On the contrary, with the proper execution it could have been entertaining. Imagine Juicy trying to do a group interview or attempt those little bonding/team exercise games. Not that butt wiggle which got old fast. That actually reminded me of the earlier episodes with its inability to let a joke go (Saw/Dekapanman, for one). Osomatsu has really improved lately and has been consistently hilarious but this skit didn't go down so well.

The fact that Juicy was Juicy and Ichi was Ichi whereas the others were roleplaying didn't mesh well either. It shouldn't have been an AU.

Honestly, I felt this episode was a little weak. I know Chibita's part was supposed to be "feels," but it honestly felt too short and kind of shallow. And this is coming from a -kun and -san Chibita fan.

The only good part of this episode was Girlymatsu, and even then it was a little too short for me.

Comedy quality is slipping. The interview skit is just Jyushimatsu being Too Weird for polite society and also breaking the bounds of reality too easily (two weeks in a row, boring), and Chibita's flower girl is tragic romance done poorly.

Girlymatsu was good and accurate. Some group dynamics transcend culture and just part of the girl experience.

I don't want their faults downplayed, they're popular as is for a reason. If they pick an Otomate writer out of a hat it's going to be irredeemable garbage for sure. Even if the staff are fans (which they probably are) they still have certain genre conventions to adhere to. There's no point in lightly parodying the genre in-game if you're still going to go full on otome because that's not what any of us are here for.

If it were a company other than Otomate I would be slightly hyped but as is, nope. If they really do set it in high school I will be rectal pained.

As far as an actual episode/segment focus goes this is our split. It's actually been relatively even.

I feel that the interview skit went on for way too long. The Girlymatsu skit was weak too.

I enjoyed Chibita's date greatly though. The casts interactions with girls that aren't utterly disgusted with them is always enjoyable even without the comedic factor.

It was nice to see Karamatsu leaving his brothers to see what was up with Chibita as well, given their past interactions. Fell a bit flat when he went to get his own flower girl but nonetheless.

Yeah 2nd cour doesn't feel as funny or fresh. Maybe it's because of the rushed schedule for writing? Some segments are nice like Chibita's date but some of the funny segments just take up too much time. Like this episode's Jyushimatsu could probably have been cut in half and gone on to a better skit.
