Blue eyes decks have had moments of shining in the past, I've seen so many variants trying their best to shove him in. Most of the ones that successfully did it were E-drags and Heratic. I think the best one I saw in terms of shenanigans was one fucker who used Prisma and would just drop him on the board, go for either DM or BEYD, then either dark magic attack or burst stream. I actually hate how complicated YGO has become. Just about every card has around 3-4 different effects on it, and I'm sure rulings must be a nightmare.

Synchros broke the game something ridiculous upon release. And they had to ban a ridiculous number of the Synchro and Tuner cards how they turned the entire game into an FTK fest. Like summoning Trishula 5 times in a row and banishing all of their cards before the opponent even gets a chance to make a move.
