What's the slowest paced anime you've seen?
Yeah, that's a show that needs to be slow paced. Same with Kaiji
>Main appeal is the omnicidal yandere hermaphrodite ghost waifu
>It takes over a hundred episodes of nothing happening to get to her
You know, in terms of what most people would call slow, Haibane Renmei. But really, the big final fight with Aizen in Bleach probably had the largest number of episodes with the lowest progression of anything I've seen. So Haibane Renmei in a good way, Bleach in a bad way.
Hunter X Hunter Chimera Ant arc. As if it wasn't bad enough having everyone crying and jobbing all over the place with stupid nen powers and having discount Cell being such a disappointment. And don't get me started on that fucking narrator. And yes, I read the manga. The anime somewhat cut down the horrid pacing. It's still pretty bad though. Why people hail that shit as a "masterpiece" is a mystery to me.
Tex builds to precisely nothing happening. You can't possibly disagree. The revelation of the world's nature has zero affect on any of the characters and therefore zero affect on the audience. The man cursing his fate at the beginning curses his fate just as fruitlessly in the end because people meet the end in the same manner they lived and it all doesn't really matter.
I find the entirety of the series ramp up to be pretension given what the ending is.
>Tex builds to precisely nothing happening.
That's literally the point. Well, at least putting it simply for someone who has trouble understanding Existential Nihilism. It does take somewhat of a learned individual to appreciate Texhnolyze for what it is, which makes it such a polarizing show (since, let's face it, anime fans are retarded by and large).
Years crammed into one whole fucking day.
Seriously i think one week took about 10 years for the war arc
I always thought of the filler as part of the appeal of the show. The filler adds to the experience as when crazy shit happens it's built up a lot. I don't think it would be nearly as effective if it were faster paced.
sophomore philosophy students are some of the worst people in the world. A little bit of knowledge is dangerous. If you study existentialism, you will become a worse person at first and there's no guarantee you will be a better person by the end.
>not a single mention of YKK
Key the Metal Idol... The whole show has big pacing problems. Last few episodes are just info dump to try to make sense of the story.
11 episodes buildup for the finale
The Dressrosa arc of One Piece is 90+ episodes long at this point and it hasn't even gotten to the final battle which also has some story afterwards
The arc was 100 chapters long
>What's the slowest paced anime you've seen?
this piece of
seriously, I couldn't believe that
a show about garbage men would engage me so much.
And it was well worth it to see her get what was coming to her.
One piece by a fucking mile.
You can basically name any long running shonen title, be it dragon ball or something, but one piece is another class entirely.
almost 10 years of no plot.
Except the early period when Oda actually tried you can take and swap around any chapter that came out i last 5 years with absolute 0 impact on the continuity of the bare bone plot.
I know some will say its the reason they like it, it never changes, its always the same shit like The Simpsons, but fuck me, even Simpsons overstayed their welcome years ago.
