When I was your age, we only had one Yu-Gi-Oh! series and we turned out just fine! I just can't make sense of any of this newfangled "5D's" and "Arc-V"!
When I was your age Yu-Gi-Oh! was only a game used to bully the elderly, and students took entire months off of school to go play cards on an island.
My grandson was a murderer too, always sending people off into dark abyss-filled purgatories from which they could never escape, ah those were the days...
Netorare is no good unless somebody clearly and obviously wins not like this "I dump you and bite off the other guys dick" stuff
Yes, the card game was only supposed to come up twice, and then when Takahashi found that people liked the card the most he decided to scrap everything else.
Manga was pretty brutal too as it was originally supposed to be a horror.
>wait I thought the anime was written to promote a card game. You know, like transformers.
>Is it actually based off a manga?
The cards were invented for the manga, so the author can make up rules as the story requires them. The first season of the show had no cards at all. But in the West they only aired the 2nd season onwards. A bit of "Dragonball Z" situation.
And the cards became merchandise that became bigger than the manga.
one of the original games yugi played was duel monsters and that got popular enough to turn into a game in its own right.
But eventually the game became such a beast that it absorbed the manga and all other related media became a vessel to pull people towards the game
Wasn't the guy he set on fire an escaped convict?
>Manga was pretty brutal too as it was originally supposed to be a horror.
you say this, but even early on it seems like they were building up towards the power of friendship stuff the later series would develop
Then he'd lose the game instantly and be MIND CRUSHED!
The whole point is they could only move one finger. Yugi used his thumb to light the lighter. The other dude chose his trigger finger.
And Yugi cheated slightly
>Unironically watching a series where people solve all their problems by playing children cards game.
