ICBMs and SLBMs are launched by a grid that is completely disconnected from any kind of outside influence by multiple layers of security, and they can be guided very accurately without the use of anything other than an inertial guidance system.

All you need to do is fire two of the fuckers up and drop one on the ground portion of Jormungand and use the other on the sattlelite.
>>
>>124371751
>being this retarded about network security.

>>
>>124372070
They already have the ground location on paper files and the location of Jormungand in orbit canbe determined using niggerrigged ground radar arrays. Her plan is fucked m8.
>>
>>124372019
Isn't it be possible that HCLI possess anti-ICBM / anti-SLBM?
Koko isn't that stupid to not anticipate this basic mistake.
>>
>>124372123
>months, maybe weeks from getting scientists to launching satelite version
>two fucking years before pressing the button
Implying there's still just a single vulnerable device
>>
>>124372162
The problem with those types of weapons is that they are more expensive than Koko could ever ever ever afford. In addition. At most, the /entire/ US can shoot down maybe 20 ICBMs in at their highest point using technology that may or may not exist. ABM technology is very primitive at the moment. Also, after they reach their highest point, most ICBMs deploy multiple independently targetable warheads.
>>
>>124372210
Then we blanket Earth's orbit with nukes and destroy all sattelites in orbit. There would then be no way for the ground unit of Jormungand to communicate with most parts of the world. At most, it would take 50 years to get back to current levels of development, this would be an acceptable sacrifice in preventing a mad dictator like Koko from ruling the planet.
>>
>>124372282
I see, I got your point.
Let me ask one last question if I may.
Is there any chance that Koko predict all this outcome and successfully disable / destroy any threat to jormungand?
If not, she is just making thing worse and largest scale war will happen before long
>>
>>124371415
What are Tomahawks?
>>
>>124372388
She was already insane, she was so absorbed in her own idealistic world that she ignored the threats she knew she couldn't defeat and just hoped that they would go away. Unfortunately, things don't just go away if you ignore them. She was wrong, and, in all likelihood, she just popped off the war to end civilization or, at the very least, kill billions of people.
>>
>>124372004
>Said that quantum computer theoretically (and partially proved) can control every single electronic that connected to network.

>>124375094
That would be a nice thought if every system used open loop crypto. The problem is most power facilities, developed countries and militaries use closed loop crypto that is designed to only accept a specific key at a specific time. A practical real example of where Jormungand would be useless is the Aster 15 and 30 which use nothing for guidance except an active RF seeker meaning they can engage targets based on practical radiowave calculations rather than syslinking with the firing ship.

Sure, the big J could hack a few banks and get some mad $ but nothing to the level the fools here think it could do.
>>
>>124373015

To bad that's functionally impossible due to the fact that both the Russians and Americans keep their missile systems running on isolated systems that require you to be physically present in order to engage them.

There's a reason those two Israeli spies were caught by the US, and it's because they were dumb enough to think they could access the networks via remote insertion.

It's basically super science written by someone that has no idea how the military world works and based all their ideas on Hollywood.

Like the retardation of the EMP plotline in GTAV.

The lasers are ground based rather than space based but otherwise yes. They're numerous and accurate enough that they can act as defense against missiles and artillery too. The main purpose of the mecha is to have a platform that you can put jet/rocket hybrid engines on so as to bring some of the functions that fighters used to fill closer to the ground. One of the first things the humans do in any engagement is to attempt to confirm laser presence, deploy heavy metal smoke clouds to dampen the effects of lasers, and send jet-powered robots to strike behind enemy lines and suppress enemy air defenses so that bombers can be brought in.

Jormungand is one of my favorite shows, but it could have been so much better without that bizarre plot hole. Sure somebody with a quantum computer could do massive damage in the short term, but it's so uncharacteristically naive for Koko to think that it could end war. Best case it knocks back military technology by a century, but literally every country on earth would devote 100% of its resources to developing alternative technology and directing it against Koko. Throughout history war has been the single greatest motivator of men and driver of innovation. That's not going to change just because one small group manages to compromise communications encryption.

The show could have been a solid A instead of a tenuous B if she had just intended to use Jormungand for fucking with the CIA, subtly manipulating world politics, and other less patently unrealistic purposes.

>Training Exercises

Are you being serious? If you seriously think that fucking INTERNATIONAL TRAINING EXERCISES are a measuring stick for military capability, then you are absolutely retarded. According to you, fighters like the Rafale, Eurofighter and the F35 regularly get shot down by cold war relics more than 50 years their senior, rubber dinghies with RPGs are able to defeat every single navy on the face of the earth combined, and a shithole like India is able to go toe-to-toe with the US and win the vast majority of the time. If you think that training exercises are anything more than irrelevant countries circlejerking each other about how falsely stronk their shitty militaries are so they can feel better about their existence Then you are absolutely butt-fucking retarded.

You don't even have to go that far back. I know it's hard to imagine when you're 11 years old, but there are people alive today who remember what the world was like before the internet. Engineers in their 50s today started their careers when you drafted on paper and did calculations on slide rules.

Besides, the ability to crack encryption only helps you if the system you're trying to attack is connected to the internet. It's standard practice for hardware used to control weapons systems and computers that store TS information to be physically isolated from any external networks -- as in the only way to hack them is to get physical access to the console. The idea that a hostile entity could compromise network security has not escaped the DOD.

I don't think you really understand. Muv-Luv is essentially three games: Muv-Luv Extra (The typical high-school rom-com harem setting) Muv-Luv Unlimited (shit changes, but not to an insane degree) and Muv-Luv Alternative (which will tear your soul in half).

After finishing Muv-Luv Alternative I was completely depressed for a month afterwards. That ending was extremely depressing.

Muv-Luv is one of the best VNs out there, but it's biggest flaw and also one of it's strengths is that you need a lot of patience.

I have protagonist plot armor. If I activated my power of friendship as well, I could wreck her with my little finger.

Koko is a shitty bond.villain and the best thing that could happen to her as a fictional character would be to lose utterly after her dogma is proven false.

She's also loco.

If was the president, I could just nigger rig a radio and send an unjammable message to a nuke sub. One on the ground, a couple in orbit. Jormungand gone. Koko a fried up crisp of shit.

I have to say I was expecting something a bit more nuanced than shatter their skies.

With such a device, you know what is being communicated just about everywhere, thanks to even secure, closed systems leaking like sieves the moment someone makes a mistake. And you can modify the contents of just about anything as well.

You can literally rewrite history as it's happening. That's some illuminati shit right there.
>>
>>124384376

Jormungand would just intercept your radioshack order and cancel it.

You do realize that we had methods of communicating before the advent of digital communications technology.

Not if it was done in person.

Hurr. Quantum Computer Encryption Cracker will solve everything.

The Author wasn't even clever enough to develop his reasoning better.

(After Jormungands Activation Humanity is at War. With Skynet?)

Jormungand Wiki. Also Jormungand canon like in the introduction speech in the first episode. It's like you people didn't even watch the show.

finally a smart person in the thread.

Oh no, it blocks GPS. How horrible, how will anyone ever get around without it. It's not like there's other, many equally effective, ways of navigation.

sequel to Jormungand, yes please.

the finale was basically teasing an amazing alternate reality cold war setting.
>>
>>124386797
But that's pretty much the only thing it can use to try to deny land and sea travel.

>>124386849
That'll never happen but you already know that

Getting rid of air traffic resolves the problem pretty well.
It resolves the decline of Marine warfare, by destroying Yamamoto's core tactics.
It also makes logistics a lot more difficult and controls the flow of weaponry around the world.

>>124386866
I know, it's hilarious. It's like most of the people in this thread apparently think that all of the worlds tanks and ships have self destruct buttons connected to the internet

Except no. The idea that she was able to ground all aircraft was retarded in and of itself. Many aviators are skilled in using navigation techniques other than GPS. In addition, many planes don't even have digital systems in them. Jormungand had a shitty premise for its last two episodes.
