There's just something the way they draw on the 80s that makes my dick diamonds.
This might sound odd, but it's like seeing manga quality art, but animated.
Yeah, it might be the lines or the art style.
Whatever makes you happy anon. People have different tastes.
modern is better. 80s girls had nasty wide shoulders and narrow hips.
So heres the deal. It's because they're still drawing it all by hand. The conversion to digital in the 90s initially didn't cause a quality degradation, but over time, as the old guard moved out and the animators started only ever working in digital they lost the ability to put out the detailed work that they used to. Among other reasons for the general quality drop. Low pay and a wealth of animators who can animate but aren't actually any good are a factor too. Most outfits also don't want to shell out for the tablets they'd need to eliminate the disconnect between an artist's hand and the screen.
This coming from an animator.
>It's because they're still drawing it all by hand.
Just like today, you mean?
Have you even watched the average TV show from back then?
Gunbuster is an OVA and got way more budget than average shows.
What the fuck is wrong with your brain? Do you think all of /a/ was born in the 60's ? You do know that someone born in 90 can be 25?
>How do you deal with the shame of being in that generation
What the fuck are you even implying.
Modern girls all look like they have been oiled up though. There is no point for that shine on the shoulders or legs. They all look like girls who got oiled up and then spanked.
The difference is back then it was going pencil->paper. You were directly drawing onto the medium you were presenting, or directly tracing something. Now it's pen->tablet->wire connecting things->screen. Very commonly there is no aspect of the process that involves pencil->paper. This would be mitigated if everyone used big tablets with screens that you can draw directly onto but nobody does.
There was a time in my life when there was no digital made anime to watch. Observing things go from VHS quality to actual high definition then backslide into a blurry mess again has been... odd.
>There's just something the way they draw on the 80s that makes my dick diamonds.
>it was going pencil->paper.
Just like today you mean?
>Now it's pen->tablet->wire
No, seriously. It's still pencil->paper.
Watch Shirobako. You have no idea what you're talking about.
Majority of anime today are animated in pencil on paper. Tablets are becoming more popular amongst younger animators, but are still far from the norm. Please do more research before talking out of your ass.
We're all right and wrong here guys. Key frames tend to get done pencil and paper still. Inbetweens and all coloring and finalizing are done digitally. Digital is by far the largest component of the process nowadays. Really, I think the largest issue is not doing things in true resolutions. Digitally finishing things at lower resolutions then blowing it up to 720p or whatever is what causes things to be less crisp than cels.
>tfw I prefer the faces and proportions of modern anime but prefer the coloring and shading of old anime
Nothing can truly satisfy me.
Heavenly but I don't know how her arms still lack definition, especially at that pose where the bicep should be getting focus. I'd say only a tiny bit more definition, nothing over the top.
I'm picking up Doggy Days because there's some thick lioness, I hope she shows up in S1.
That and all the tits.
Do you think I'd get some affection my way if I called them Lovely Angels rather than their disingenuous nickname?
No, it's the floofiness!
80s girls have normal proportions, they aren't thick.
Yuri would probably have first impression opinions of you and you'd have to treat her like a lady to get her affection.
Kei you'd probably have to either click with her personality or impress her somehow.
>I saw an anime about making anime so I know about making anime
The bath scenes are all there retard
The only thing removed in any version is the pubes. Only the fucking laserdiscs have the pubes
Yeah that sounds about right
Although we don't know how long Noriko was in space in the time between episodes 5 and 6 though. It was like 30 years from Kasumi's perspective but we don't know how long it was for Noriko
Not of Jung.
I got my friend watching gunbuster for the first time
>dude why are these robots doing situps
If you're learning to pilot a giant robot then what better way than learning routine motor functions.
I get that it's a sight gag, but it's so easy to justify that I don't get why people watching Gunbuster for the first time always get hung up on it. It's happened to me with a few of my friends as well.
