The change was unnecessary but everything else about Mirai Fukuin was enjoyable. It really did feel like KnK movie, not just a cash grab like Steins;Gate movie for example.

She's only the fourth best person in KnK after Touko, Mikiya and Joji Nakata.

I actually quite liked it, though it was pretty jarring at first. I was pleased when the nighttime backstreets came back, though. While the "blazing sunlight" aesthetic made a change, it didn't really feel right.

KnK was seen as a risky project because it was a 7 movie adaptation of a shitty novel Nasu wrote long before Type-Moon got incredibly popular. The trick was to do it faithfully so that fans would be satisfied, and with a high production budget and using modern animation techniques which aren't commonly used. Very experimental. It turned out to be a huge success, so there's no surprise that Aniplex would make Ufotable the first-choice partner when they decided to do another high budget adaptation of a Type-Moon related novel.
