How can you say you love her when you can't even love the way she speaks?
As a dubfag, I have to admit that her Jap voice is superior. Minori Chihara (is that right?) had more depth and feeling to her performance than the English VA, I forget her name. But I can't hate the dub voice, it wasn't great and it wasn't bad, it was adequate.
>Dubs that have no emotion in the voice acting
She has an excellent one, actually. Which is good, because she'd be speaking English 95% of the time given that she works in space with a multinational crew. Even in nip she's implied to be fluent as is everybody else.
>getting a dub
That's pretty funny, OP.
No dub voices are passable, Don't even think Kore wa Zombie has one.
In the German dub, which is what I first saw, she was dubbed by Sabine Bohlmann, the same person who dubbed Lisa Simpson. She did a great job. In the later seasons they used a different person, Inez Günther, although almost all other characters retained their voice actresses. It was horrible and there were many outcries but nothing we could do. At least for the first season she had a great voice. I have no clue about the English DICK dub, everyone avoided that shit like the plague.
Almost all of the anons defending dubs have problems with reading and can't keep up with subtitles.
When you're in that position, it's easier to rationalize all the ways dubs-are-just-fine-you-autists than it is to travel back in time and not flunk out of third grade.
>Don't even think Kore wa Zombie has one.
Well, they do say ignorance is bliss.
Symphogear doesn't have a dub and it never will. And thank fuck for that.
Yeah I don't care for dubs so I wouldn't know, I don't even want to see my waifu tained by some disgusting English voice.
Jokes on you, I love her largely due to the dub.
And now for a game.
See if you recognize her.
Should be easy.
>Almost all of the anons defending subs have problems with paying attention to good animation and can't keep up with identifying key frames breakdowns, extremes, and in-betweens.
>When you're in that position, it's easier to rationalize all the ways subs-are-just-fine-you-autists than it is to actually pay attention to the visuals instead of reading words at the bottom of the screen.
Some people think so, i personally think it doesn't match up with her look. I know she's supposed to be mature, but her dub voice would have matched better if she took the shape of a more mature woman
Nigga if you're talking about early disney movie animations I'll agree with you, but anime movies back then also had huge amounts of quality animation in terms of shading and scale.
>Not a husk of their old self
Not my waifu, but I quite like Taiga's dub voice, but that might be because
I've never seen Toradora in Japanese
I feel like there are stories here that I'm missing here. Please tell.
>english, german, french, fandubs, blahblah
Never relevant unless you're below five years of age or live in a third world country with poor literacy rate.
But that makes sense considering the mental age of most anniemayfags.
>putting words in my mouth
Cartoons, any kind of it, is shit in terms of animation by default. Yes that includes those dusty low budget old animu movies.
I'm being completely genuine, I don't usually watch dubs, but I decided to watch a recent one because I was curious and I had heard Toradora was pretty good. It was weird not reading subtitles at first, but the dub wasn't ear splitting or anything, and I thought Taiga's voice was pretty cute sounding. The only voice I really didn't like was the student council girl's, she sounded like she was in her mid 30s, when she's supposed to be like 18. I don't really watch many dubs so the 'voices are the same in every dub' issue didn't really come up because I wouldn't be able to recognize anyone if I tried.
>mfw she was born three years later than me (to the day) and is pretty attractive.
I haven't seen it, but apparently Monica Rial is doing her voice. I'm glad I don't watch dubs because after looking into dub clips of Air and Shuffle I know she's shit.
It cant be helped, its not that bad than i thought
Dropped her voice by 4 octaves at least.
As an indecisivefag, I like both for different ways.
It is and will never be as good as sawashiro...
but it's passable. It is a bit too bitchy and less cool than the original, but it's okay.
But I love the way she speaks. And her dub voice is the only voice of hers I know, and it's more than surpassable beyond the heavens.
Sucks that I can't post her though without getting banned for ban evasion. I still don't know why.
I still can't figure out why the japanese voices seem to put way more emotion into their words, I mean we have this from akame http://a.pomf.se/igbcmw.mp4
all my previous experiences with dubs they sound fucking deadpan or retarded.
Do these people get paid 5 bucks a job or what?
She doesn't need a dub voice; she can speak english just fine.
Though that doesn't seem to stop me from occasionally hearing her in a particular voice
First one was spot on for young Usagi/Serena. Personally I prefer her second one, especially her Princess Serenity voice. Everyone hates her third VA (even though she makes a fantastic drunk). Still on the fence on her current Orihime voice, though...
Yep, that's her all right. I like tracking down VAs in live action works.
I think Rie Tanaka and Tara Platt both did a great job.
Yeah, it was great to finally hear some range in her character from the movie dub. It's like everything we knew the character could be was suddenly unleashed all at once.
Wendy Lee has a passable voice in the dub, but her counterpart, Aya, can fucking SING and God Knows is actually her band's song.
>Kyou's dub voice
It's like if your name ends in Freeman you're a vocal GOD.
Asuka's English VA is basically her own waifu
I am replying to the thread to remind you idiots that the original version of an anime is also a dub - it's a Japanese dub. "Dub" is not synonymous with "English voice-over," and anyone naive to think that should be embarrassed.
That is all.
if the glove fits...
That doesn't apply to Red Garden. Red Garden was animated to the original voice recordings, no ADR at all. That's why the English dub had such horrible lip synchs, the voices themselves were decent though.
She's also married to Matt Greenfield, ADV's founder. That had nothing to do with her getting the job though, as they ended up getting married after Eva came out. Actually, a ton of people working at ADV ended up getting married to other staff members, but from what I remember only the Grant/Greenfield marriage didn't end in divorce.
I swear to FSO, I will fuck up your LWD, and then I will take a big fat shit on your ADR just to show you what I think of it.
>if you understood any of these obscure acronyms, you would be fine with this.
>As a dubfag
>I've only seen the show English dubbed
Narutards, illiterate dubfag threads and homosexuals everywhere...
Gaia won and /a/ is dead.
So your waifu can only be from recent shows that aired this season? That just makes you a disgusting seasonal waifufag.
It's 20-fucking-14 anon, we're not in the dark dub ages anymore, times have changed, do you know they even do simuldubs now?
I watch dubbed and subbed anime, deal with it.
I am replying to you to inform you that in the context of this imageboard, the term "dub" is used to universally refer to the English voice-over in a Japanese animation.
You are an autist.
That is all.
