I'm a big believer in the 'from hardship comes a seed of wisdom' style thinking (if I didn't I'd have killed myself not long after childhood), the thing that's rocked me isn't so much the uh, staggering material loss, as the trust. Don't worry, as I'm still also a noob. Horary is setting a map for the time of the question, then identifying the planets as elements of the question and extracting the answer from that. It played a big part in people's lives before modernity, but when astrology was "recovered" it apparently was left out. It's considered more basic and simpler than natal charts, doesn't involve transits and such, only answers specific type of questions, but may give very specific answers sometimes.

Well, the stuff I study is more traditional, so kabbalistic and esoteric would be out of my field. It gets complicated when it goes to profections, firdaries, directions, that I can't touch.
