Usually when something is blocked for me, there is a reason for it. Aye I do compare myself a lot with my friends, and that sense of failure is always lingering. I have cousins with the same age, married, with kids on a stable job and I'm stuck here.

All that worries from the past are coming back as a burden in the mind. The expectations aren't being met, they have to stop looking at the past and what happened.

However, what's universal for them is that they get visibly depressed when they are hungry (a terrifying sight...) or when they are alone. One does not like to cuddle at all, but she literally screams if she's all alone for example- while the other two no matter how depressed demand affection. It's rare that they starve so much that they can't move (money issues), but even the slightest hunger makes them depressed.
However, with treats- don't overdo it. My youngest, most spoiled cat became addicted to them and she had health issues because they contained some proteins that aren't good to take in too much, but she loved them and always demanded more.
