Well, at first I was getting thumping on trees in "response" to calling out and asking for the doctor to show himself.

Things got pretty heavy when I mocked or threatened him. After that the atmosphere was very negative. It was quite warm too.

You said you had 3 scratches? Can I see a picture? You were in the woods so scratches can be easily explained away. As for sulfur, that's not always a sign, in fact in rarely is. Is there any natural causes in the area? Hot springs? Coal mines? Have you been hearing any bumps or knocks of three or six groupings?

Not to get too detailed but I'm a sensory expert, a sulfur smell naturally wouldnt be very localized in that way. Even the trace sulfur in onions and garlic can be super overpowering. OP would have smelled it in the whole area. It seemed local and only happened after he taunted this thing.

Ok OP I have some recomendations for your next trip. First of all, in my opinion and accepting the fact that this isnt just larping faggotry, you are probably dealing with a forest spook. Forest spooks are bigger, smarter, meaner and more resistant to UV light than your average urban spook. They also have the nasty habit of hunting for humans every now and then, and using the skin of those they consume as "clothe" and in this way attract potential prey (this is the reason they smell like shit when they are nearby); also, like their urban cousins, they can vocalize the odd word.
Now, having said this, forest spooks follow the same rules every other spook in the world does. Meaning, they die when exposed to strong sources of UV light or when exposed to bismuth; as in bizmuth containing bullets. You can technically kill them the same way you would kill any other animal or human being, including hacking them to pieces, this however will prove quite difficult as they can be quite vicious, specially in this case as the spook has already consumed human flesh and has been given a name: Doctor (told ya not to name it!).
Recomendation: dont go back by yourself, get some UV lamps, get some salt, holy water and in doubt prey. Spooks, because they are faith creatures, are affected by faith rituals and reagents, even if you dont beleive in them.
